Allison brought up a good point in one of her posts about the frequency of riding by Tribe members posting here. So, how many times do you ride a week? I realize that there will be a difference between summer riding and winter riding as once we go off of daylight savings the days are considerably shorter... thus, less time for riding. I'm just trying to get a feel for weekly riding frequency... oh, and BTW, rolling out of your garage and down the street a block or so is not the riding I'm talking about. Rides should be a minimum of one hour and can be dirt or road.

Actually in regards to the Daylight Savings, I actually ride more during the winter because there is less to do other than ride. I will get in a solid 3 rides a week in the winter compared to the 1 to 2 rides a week I get in the summer. End up hanging out with friends, bbq's, padre games, happy hour, swimming at the cove, etc during the summer more.

Unfortunatley there are a BUNCH of us on the STR DL who were left out of this poll... we needed a zero option
![]() I answered when I actually rode....but again I didn't have my option....3 times in 2 weeks...once each weekend and atleast once during the 2 weeks on week days

I replied/voted 4 days, but it's anywhere from 3-6 depending on how the week goes.
I think I have around 155 rides so far this year, so I do pretty good for a guy with 3 kids and a hellish commute to work.

I'll try and get out 3-5 days a week. I'll generally get 3 to 4 fullerton loops in during the week (depending on how many doubles i can do before dark), and then go ride elsewhere on the weekend, both days if i can, but at least one day. Sometimes i'll keep track of my mileage, i'm bummed if I get in less than 50 miles in a week - makes me feel lazy!
Really I just get bored sitting at home, figure I might as well be out riding...

Sundays are usually anywhere from 65 to 100 miles.
Mondays are an off day. Tuesdays - Thursdays are usually a 35 to 40 mile morning ride. Fridays are dependent on my work schedule. If I commute to work, I'll get 50 to 65 miles in. If I have work commitments, I won't ride. I try to keep Saturdays as a rest day, but if I don't ride on Friday, I'll log in another 40 to 50 miles. Weekly mileage ranges anywhere from 225 to 250 miles. All my miles are on the road... |

With my schedule(grave yard), I ride just about everyday. I just adjust my sleep time accordingly to meet up with the ride times. I didn't ride today(long weekend of riding), but I have a ride scheduled for Tomorrow(Tues), Wed(meeting with WS Member Suzanne W. on the Fully Loop), Thurs(Fully Loop tea party ride), Fri(maybe taking a newb out for out and back at O'Neill), Sat(not riding-Trail work), Sun(Traci's Whiting Ride). It's pretty much the same every week. I used to do 2-a-days(ride in the morning and again in the afternoon on my days off. Does that count for 1 day of riding or 2.
All dirt of course, but when we lose day light, I'll start riding to and from work on my cross bike(19 miles each way). |

I always have a bike with me at all times. I either have my GT DHi or my Enduro SX packed in the Element with all of my riding kit and tools. If I get out of work at a reasonable time, then I ride. In the winter, it's the BMX track on Wednesday nights and longer rides on Saturday and Sunday to make up for the loss of the week nights. Some late night urban assaults are also good for working on handling and sprinting. That's the program. In fact, I think I am going to leave right now and hit the trail.

When the days are long enough to fit in post-work rides (I gotta buy some lights), I ride 3-4 times per week. Not sure how much I'll be able to fit in this winter. Frequency is also dependent on the health of my knees.
No complaints though: When I started 2 years ago I was only able to do 2 short, easy rides per week totaling maybe 20 miles max. Now I do 30-40+ miles per week, and have indefinitely postponed the back surgery I was considering before I started riding!
