Default A 12" travel fork??

Please don't count the ebay link as spam...But Holy Crap! Is this thing for real? A 12" DH fork? That thing has got to weigh a ton. Does anyone even use or need that much travel? Are there any framesets out there that would even work with this fork without completely screwing up the intended geometry? It seems like overkill. Forgive my noobness but someone enlighten me here.

I wonder how something like that would ride?

Nice avatar, stinkyrider. That's one of my favorite SP episodes. Not because I play WOW (Hell No!), but it's just frickin' hilarious.

Marzocchi also produced the "Super Monster" 12" travel Monster T
A Banshee Scream will handle one and a few other Canadian bikes.
Bender used to use a Bigfoot on his Karpiel,
note: Karpiel Apocalypse frame had 13" in the rear via a coil over shock and an air shock., when he was on Banshee he used a Super Monster, to a 888, now is railing trails on a 66 ata, the air model, on his Ellsworth Moment.

So what CAN you ride with a Karpiel??? seems with that much travel, its only good for dropping off a cliff and hoping you survive.....

I have the 7" version of that fork (Rissie Champ). And it's no light weight. I think heavy would be an understatement for the big foot.

Sanjay had one of those big foots on the front of some dh bike that used a snowmobile shock in the back. I bet he doesn't miss that. lol

I don't know I'll ask him for you next time I talk to him. I hope that will satisfy your fetish. Sort of weird that you would be into other mens underwear
unless you swing that way.
you could start a thread on the subject

Default Follow the winners...

Look at the winners of the Redbull competitions as well as the slopestyle guys. Cedric, for example, killed several Rampages on his Cannondale DH bike with a 7" Dorado. He is consistently in the top 10 for the world in DH with the same set up. Bearclaw hucks giant stuff, too, with a bit over 6" front and back. The 12" travel for and 13" rear is kind of a freak thing I think. Pretty trippy to see how those rigs shape up though. Look on YouTube for Bender footage and you might be convinced.

Bearclaw was in grade school when Bender was riding that Karp. Alot has changed over the years. Sure 12" forks were never the rage. But things like 26X3.0's were. Heck, my old Spooky had a Rissie fork, 24" double wides with Gazzy 3.0's.
Just don't see that stuff any more. And for good reason too. lol Really the Spooky was fun set up like that. Just were not going to win any races on it.

CPC Patriot's FTW! My buddy had that bike years ago in Tahoe. Weighed 75 lbs. They were still being produced by a different name.
