What makes HIM so special? His sweet bike? Riding abilities? The fact he spent much of the ride with BOTH tires off the ground? NO! What makes him special.... He is/was a LURKER!

Everyday, I find myself "WELCOMING" a new member into the STR family. For many, their "introduction" is the last time we ever hear from them. That is quite unfortunate- for them AND for us!

What makes STR "special" is NOT the biking. It is the collection of (like-minded, good hearted, interesting, honest and hard working) members who make this site so special.

My point: You get from this site what you put into the site! One cannot fully appreciate what I am talking about unless they participate!

*** If distance/scheduling issues keep you from joining most rides- make the time to attend... one!
*** Fat and out of shape? So is (My Homie) Fired Yo Momma. He shows up for every ride!
*** If you have a biking question- start a thread, post your questions, PM those whom you feel may be able to help.
*** If you feel most rides are simply too far away- expect a few rides (i.e San Gabriel's, Malibu, San Dimas, Chiquito) with MY name on them! Better yet, post a ride yourself. Someone will join you! If "they" don't, someone will join you the second time you extend the offer!
*** Can't attend a ride? Meet us for food/drinks AFTER our ride. I would love to tell you what was missed!

*** Take a few minutes to fill out your personal profile- specifically your location! If Coldbrews had not done so, you would not be reading this thread today!

*** Don't feel like posting? Click the "THANKS" button whenever you feel someone has made a contribution worthy of praise. In doing so, we will know you exist!

*** How 'bout "making my day" by posting an opinion/response to this thread?
*** If you live anywhere near Turnbull- PM me! Never been to Turnbull- PM me! Want to invite ME to a ride- PM me!

Thankfully, the rant is over- for now!

Oh, I almost forgot....... See ya' Thursday Coldbrews!
After reading your post, I decided I shouldn't be a lurker anymore. I signed up tonight, thanks for the advice.
Cheers-Tommy

I usually like to lurk, but I've broken a lot of bad habits lately so here I am. I met a few of you guys last week at Hero's after doing the Fullerton Loop. If you don't yet know who I am. I was the one puking in the bushes at the first hill....

So yea, a great time was had once I realized that I wasn't 10 years younger anymore. However in recent news I went to Peter's Canyon today with Zach and Danny (don't know their screen names on here yet) today and was able to climb a few hills!

Anyways, I hope to see you guys again this Sunday for another attempt, hopefully with less puke.

Anyone here live in or near Tustin Ranch? I'm a lurker... I like to go on post-work rides from my house (near Tustin Ranch/Bryan) up to Peters Canyon and back. I see other riders out there usually... are any of them you?

I 100% aggree with you Dino Thanks! I met up with a group yesterday for the Santiago Oaks ride and I am so glad I did. I was challanged and I was able to meet some fun riders that I would not of met otherwise.

Now who in the world knows the Powder Cyn/Skyline Trail because I live 2 miles away and I would like to ride it with someone who has been up there before.

Only better, no one gets mad if you sing too loud, or laugh at the wrong time or wear the wrong thing (well maybe dirtmistriss) most people are not here for fashion.

Default Lurk'n from the Pacific

I've been lurking since February. This site is the best place for me to get MTB fill while I'm out to sea. It's motivated me to start riding again. So far this cruise I've ridden in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Guam and the next stop is Hawaii. Looking forward to doing the Fully Loop Tea Party when I get back.

Unfortunetly I'm a LURKER.
I'm very jealous of the STR community. I'm up in Nor-Cal and the area I'm in does not have a tight nit group like this. I love this site, and the love people have for our culture. You know you are a bike nut when your wife buys your daughter a bike as a birthday present for you.

Get out there and ride!
