I knew Mark Warrick was a spammer but WTF?

For those who posted anything even remotely threatening, I would suggest an edit or another post with a disclaimer stating that the post was either a joke, or not to be taken seriously. We don't know how far Mr. Warrick will take this. Remember: Hell hath no wrath like a woman scorned

Second, I will not be visiting his site ever again.

Third I guess we have to specify to people we suggest the site to that we are socaltrailriders.org

Fourth, if you meet Mr. Warrick, or know where he lives or see him on a trail, resist the urge to give him the beat down he deserves. We don't need the bad press.

I love Sladnas' idea of showing up to a public trail at the same time as 3F with our jerseys on and love in our hearts just to see what happens (apparently he has the authority to kick people off of public land)

And as for Mr. Warrick- You are a hypocrite, and the personification of all that is wrong with America today. What kind of attention whore goes out of his way to disregard the posting rules and good taste of a community mountain bike site, but cries about it when he gets banned and still uses the name of our site to try to funnel naive mountainbikers to your internet marketing venture? Apparently you were never taught the basic values that coarse through the veins of most of the people who are members of our site, namely honor, courage, dignity and community. By the very act of whining that you were banned on your blog, and still lurking on our site, and trying to steal domain names, you prove that you are not a mountain biker at all. You are simply a whitewashed computer nerd who thinks he is a great outdoorsman. Kinda like the great white hunters in Africa who require an Elephant to be corralled and chained, and need 4 locals helping them hold the rifle up to shoot.
Mr. Warrick, you are a sham, a fraud and a hypocrite. I hope you like what you see when you look in the mirror, you fat pasty geek.

It's sad but no surprise that animosity between mountain bike forums exists. I'm a member of probably 4 different "honda" car forums and everyone from each site has something against everyone else's site. Just as many in the Mustang forums as well.

I'm not partial to anyone myself just because I'm here to ride and make friends. I don't care who I ride with as long as they are nice to hang out with and talk to.

I rode with Mark for the first time a few weeks ago. Him and his buddies that I rode with were all very cool guys. Mark and two of the other guys stayed behind and encouraged me and gave me riding tips. I had no problems with him and he seemed like a really nice guy. It doesn't bother me that he bought a dozen or so domain names and pointed them to his site, because again.. I've seen it before in other forums, websites etc...

I hope noone looks at me badly when I say, I just want to ride and make friends. Internet politics don't affect me now and never will. If someone is cool with me, I'm cool with them.

I agree with you to a point, but I do have an issue with assosciating with people who I find to lack integrity, and this Mark/3F guy sure appears to lack it. The kicker to me is having the "socaltrailrider" domain. He is clearly trying to mooch off what George has created. I personally do not wish to "just hang and ride" with people like that. Also, just because you have seen others do it, doesn't make it right or acceptable. You are essentially condoning such behavior.

This guy has an Oakley link under his events tab that comes up every once in a while... I turned him in to their legal department. I used to have such a hard time getting my accounts set up with a link that I have a hard time believing he has written approval.

I think the problem here is that what was witnessed was a personal attack, in a public forum, of a someone that we all consider a good friend, who has done a lot for us (not to mention the website). The attacks here seem to be a knee jerk reaction to our disbelief at the audacity of the leader of 3F, and I know that I do not wish to be part of such a debauchery of character to someone that is so gracious to all of us (this website was solely promoted and maintained by George, without any profit).

I know that I am part of several other groups and forums in the mtb community and have not witnessed any of them treating each other with such disrespect.

However, if the group was open and helpful to you and you wish to participate in their events, I do not think that anyone here will judge you on that.

I believe that this posting was started to alert others as to the events that occurred, not to burn anyone, and, perhaps, a bit to vent off anger. It's true that some will judge Mark on the evidence of his behavior, both via George and via his own website rantings, but that is not to say that you should follow suit. Just follow your heart. The only behavior we can control is our own, and forgiveness is a true art (I just happen not to be an artist )

PS It's a club, not a gang, man--we're all wearing our STR jerseys this weekend, right?
