The title of his post "STR Members Threaten 3F Leader" is funny. Just in case any of his minions forgot who he was....he's THE LEADER.
And banning STR Members from his future rides seems sorta childish. 99% of the STR members haven't done or said anything mean to him. I've met the guy on one of the Bommer Canyon rides and he talked about his site. He seemed like a decent guy. |

Well, there is obviously only a couple ways to handle this:
[Warning, sarcasm required below] 1) Start showing up at the 3F rides in our jerseys, with smiles on our faces and nothing but love to share (Pac, you know the kinda love I'm talkin' bout )[Sarcasm warning over] 2) Do nothing. As much as I'm typically all gitty about stuff like this, the pacifist in me says let the guy do his thing. He's not the only one, and won't be the last. This is just an opportunity for STR to unite and show we're above this kinda crap. Stop reading his blogs, too (it will just entice). Mark, since you are reading this, my only advice to you is to do the same, get over it...and some personal advice for a newby internet entrepreneur: cloak your WHOIS database entries. ![]() |

Unbelievable! I feel sorry for this guy. He just doesn't get it!
The "thing" that makes STR SPECIAL is the sense of Brotherhood that it provides. STR is NOT simply a "mountain bike" website- it is much more! How many acts of goodness have you seen that are a direct result of this website? Charity rides? Assisting injured riders? When bikes have broken down on the trail- I have witnessed people take parts off their own bikes in order to help a family member limp "home." Helping out-of-work family members locate jobs. Last night, a family member dented his rim. Before leaving the parking lot, Rob (aka Woobie) gave him the rim off his own bike. He gave it to him. To keep!!! Shall I continue? When a new member "introduces themselves" (whether via the internet or a post) I respond by saying, "welcome to family." I say that because I mean it. I am NOT the only one. They are ALL welcomed with open arms! How many times have you heard a new person say- "YOU PEOPLE ARE SOOOO COOL. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS SITE EXISTS. I WISH I HAD KNOWN ABOUT IT A LONG TIME AGO? Take the NEWBIE rides for instance! They were created to give less advanced riders an opportunity to JOIN THE FAMILY... to become part of the group.... to ask questions.... to "enjoy the brotherhood" that is STR! It is NO accident 55 members showed to our last ride. We are a collection of like minded (i.e. intelligent, kind hearted, honest, law abiding) people. Don't let this guy bring us down. |

Thats a defamation claim if he post your info on his site without your concent. I have met this guy, but can't say I know him. If my info was on there, I would make a claim because my good name is being smeared without my consent. Since I run a business in Orange, the success is solely based on my good name, and according to my attorney, I have a claim. Hey Mark, I actually went on one of your rides a while back. I was on the elsworth. You really weren't that nice to hang with. In fact you made me feel like and outsider, I ended up hanging with a member of the ODC... and if I am not mistaken I think I even helped you with your shifting. Then you said something to your friend that I messed it up. I should have kicked your ass right there but I was cool and didn't want to burst your inflated head and just took off ahead with another ODC member I beleive. Its not fun or helping my fitness taking 3 hours to get to the main divide. I hope you remember because it was so bad that I even ranted to my girlfriend about how the ride was. If you know me, you know I am pretty level headed and don't say much normally. But you buying a domain close to this is weak. What goes around comes around and hope you get banned from your own group of Dorks-R-Us riders cause at this point, I don't think you are helping their cause. By the way, I have a hard time believing Oakley is letting you use there tag. It just doesn't work that way. I was a sales rep for 7 years there and those things just don't fly. I am turning you in to check. |

But I did notice there is an 3F ride at the Oaks 9AM on Sept. 8th. That's pretty much been my stomping grounds for a very long time. Last I remembered that's a public place and anyone can ride there. Hummmmm, maybe we could have a 3F vrs STR huck off at the top?? All in fun of course (unless I stack it twice in a row AGAIN!) ![]() |

Wow I better watch out now that I am claiming STR. I have the STR colors and sticker on my bike. I can see it now, I am going down meadows and some guy comes from the bushes and attacks me. I might to be rolling with these dudes soon. MTB are hard dudes! Maybe harder than these guys.

Jason, there's no point to a huckoff. I did a Blackstar ride with few friends from another forum last year. Warrick, being a spammer in that forum as well, decided to tag along. He rode the the meeting place from his home up Silverado canyon (or whatever that road is that leads to Maple Springs). He really struggled to make the climb. He was so out of shape. He would struggle on any of the newbie rides. It's hard to imagine him being able to actually lead a ride. He has absolutely no bike skills, so challenging him to anything on a bike is pointless. Although I think he can smoke more cigarettes than anyone here.
