Default Anyone have cleats for Crank Bros pedals??

OK, so I was given a pair of Crank Bros Candy C pedals and am actually considering trying clipless pedals again.

Does ayone happen to have an extra set of Crank Bros cleats they would be willing to part with?? I did a cursory look around online and didn't see just the cleats for sale anywhere.

Thanks.

Doug,

I can't believe you don't run clipless... did you have a bad experience with them or what? Inquiring minds want to know..

Thanks,

OMR

I still dont run clipless on MTB but I do on my roadie. I take my feet off the pedals way too much in the dirt

I have Candy's on my road bike if you need something lemme know.

Adrenaline actually had just the cleats for sale. I believe Jenson has/had some the last time I checked.

Yes, I just couldn't make friends with them in 4 months of trying. Granted, it was with the crappy SPD's that came stock on my bike. Lot's of tip-overs and a couple nasty spills because I couldn't unclip in time.

I believe it was Allison who suggested trying a different pedal, so just as I was considering it, the Candy C's fell into my lap.

I made this same statement to him at one time and was told "don't ask You will never see clipless pedals on mmy bikes"

Good luck.... I hope you like them

The Path has them, I purchased our replacement cleats from there. The replacement cleats from Crank Bros. seems to last longer than the stock cleats also.

I use the Candy c's and I love them. I rode for years without clipless. I finally took a crash course one weekend when we went to Goosberry. I forgot the old-school cages so I didn't have a choice. Several crashes, several bruises and 3 days in Utah later, I love my clipless and can't believe it took me so long to switch over. Good luck with those, I'm sure you'll love them. I found them much eaiser than the SPD's to get in and out of. Got lots advice from many others on the site...pedal advice

Shouldn't be that much of a problem to find Crank Bros cleats: I've seen them at Performance, REI, and of course numerous serious bike shops.

If you can't find em at your LBS, you can order direct from Crank Bros

If the Candy's don't work you can borrow my Time ATAC. I have them on my Heckler now. To lazy to pull the A-Frames off my SL yesterday.

Just ride the stuff you know for a few days and practice getting in and out at places that are easy to catch yourself. I did that on a few rides until I was bored and its been all good ever since. I wouldn't do that at Noble but anywhere else you ride I'm sure it would be fine.

DO NOT get the better cleats. They are much harder to clip in and out of.

For a newbie, just stick with cheap brass cleats.

ABSOLUTELY. I made the mistake of not breaking in premium cleats before a ride.. BAD IDEA.
