I have been to The Path (duh ), and I have seen their customer sevice at work.To me, and quite a few others, it's second to none. I've seen a bunch of people buy bikes from other shop's, then end up bringing them into The Path for service, then hear them say, "I should have just bought my bike here". Like I said, I'm not knocking Jenson's at all, I'm just letting you know what I've seen first hand. Hope this helps.

I travel alot on MTBing road trips. I have yet to find anything that approachs The Paths inventory. When I tacoed a Niner rim in Tahoe, I should have had The Path shipped me a new rim...my bike would have been back together quicker and cheaper. I just did not think of it until Brian (Donkey) from the Path offered to send me out one.
If you ride 29 inch wheels many shops don't even carry tires or tubes. When in Prescott I have had to drive either to Flagstaff or Phoenix for parts. Dean

The budget I'm bringing with me on Sunday is in the range of $1000-1500, $1500 only if I find a totally rad bike. I'm more comfortable with $1200.
Any idea what I should expect to find with that kind of cash? I have no idea what bikes The Path stock. Their webpage is a little intimidating. 05-07 is all good, just as long as I get what I want. Basically a FS XC/AM w/rear lockout. |

I desperately hope to find a XC FS frame from either sale. I'd prefer the Path but without knowing either stores inventory, i guess i'm playing a guessing game. I'll probably pick up everything i want at jenson and get the frame or bike at the path.

You can check out jensonusa's site to check out the bikes they carry. You'll find great parts and deals at both shops on a regular basis, as well as during the sales. |

I am glad I will be in Vegas that weekend. I figured with the strippers and gambling it may be a cheaper weekend compared to the last time I went to the Path sale.
As a side note I kind of understand what TucknRoll is talking about the website. The website in my opinnion is sub-par but that may be the tradeoff for good service and great prices.

Big brands w/complete bikes: Kona Ironhorse Specialized Norco Bianchi Jamis(?) Redline Frames: (You name it basically) Ellsworth, Turner, Lenz, Voodoo, Niner, Soma, Seven etc? With your budget, I'd see if they have an '05 or '06 Kona or Specialized maybe an IH or Norco on clearance. Note: The lockout on a rear shock isn't really a must these days with all the propedal/stable platform technology. Some designs like the IH don't even come with that option. I'd just make sure what ever bike you may buy the rear shock on the Frame has REBOUND adjustment. I know some of the low end Kona Kikapus don't have this. |
