Exclamation Community Service Message - Trail work 9/15

I rec'd the following from the Brian @ Irvine Land Reserve Trust:

"September 15th is almost upon us. It's time to get out the work gloves and old boots, and come clean up the Black Star Canyon area. We, as an organization, are hosting this site this year on our own. Please plan to attend and support this partnership with Trails 4 all as well as do some good for an area that is in much need of some
fall cleaning. Please invite your friends and family as well.

Also, sign up as soon as you can through our activities website. The waiver is required for everyone in attendance and it gives me an
easy way of submitting the numbers of volunteers and hours committed to Trails 4 all once the event is over. The website is listed below. Also, I need to get a grasp on an estimate of how many
volunteers we will have so that I make sure we get enough supplies.

https://www.irvineranchlandreserve.org/activities/index.asp?col=&srt=&area=&pn=2&month=9&year=2007

I hope you can make it, tell everyone you know. For a full listing
of cleanup sites around OC, please go to Trails 4 All's website at
www.trails4all.org.

I know it's tough to go work on trails when you want to ride. But, for those of you that don't have a ride planned, you may want to consider this.

OMR.....thnx for posting this. This event is held every year at multiple locations. So, if Blackstar is too far, you can find a place closer to you. We should ALL take some time to pitch in.......here's the link to find out more;

no reason we can't do both. I've seen nobody post anything about the STT cleanup in a few weeks (heat prob the factor).

Any thoughts into when? Before or after the above event?

I think you are right that we should wait until it cools down

Actually, we cleaned up Beek's Place... not the road leading up to it.... we had a big pile of trash that the rangers arranged to have picked up... which is a problem on STT.. hauling the trash out... but it can be done with a little planning.

And yes, I agree, that we should probably wait until this friggin heat is done...

The 15th is the WS coastal cleanup and is supposed to be at Holy Jim(so much for the coast). I'm already doing that on the 15th.

Good tip... I totaly forgot I have that set up which I haven't used since the San Juan Hut System ride from Durango to Moab 2 years ago. Worked great.
