I don't use a women's specific seat. I tried them and they are too wide, especially when descending. I love and have ridden SDG saddles for the past 5 years. I have them on my trail and dh bikes.

ohhhh.. the Laser V is a great saddle. The Speed She COMP is also SUPER cush, but heavy. If you aren't concerned with weight, I say try the Speed She Comp. Get it from REI and have it installed "gently" in case you hate it and need to return it. I believe they take saddles back if they are in good condition, but you may need to ask for details.
What saddle is best is like anything else. Everyone has a fave. I don't run the Speed She comp because it's heavy. But, I do enjoy sitting on the WTB Laser saddles. I've got 3 different models. I think the most expensive is on my XC bike, 2nd most is on my Enduro, and the heaviest one is on my DH bike. I also liked the Speed She Pro version for awhile, but it seemed like after it got wet it became rock hard and uncomfortable. Many women also really like the Specialized BG Jett saddle. |

I believe WTB makes "loaners" for bike shop customers to try out. They have yellow highlights and lettering so they are very distinctive, but I think it's a great idea to have them available.
I second the WTB She Speed and they also make another slightly bulkier, but very comfortable model that is a bit more square looking in the 'sitting area'. |

Love my Specialized Avatar Gel but everybody is different. Have it on two of my bikes but don't forget to have your sit bones measured for correct size. If you go to Incycle don't believe Dirty when he tells ya he measures all the customers by hand!!

My saddle is a little wide and I have been considering changing it, not because it's uncomfortable, but because it's so w i d e ....i think it's peer pressure more than anything
But sometimes I feel that it could get in the way if I want to hang my butt off the back end. Some saddles can be a big investment, I mean I don't mind speending the $$, but I don't want to buy one that I'm not happy with and have it sit in storage. So I need to see if I can find a loner one to check out. Thanks for the suggestions!!! Quote:

I also really like the laser V, this coming from someone who's doesn't put a ton of miles in. I love it. Even after my 1st real "big ride" I wasn't feeling like i'd been on a bike for hours. What I did notice is that when I wear shorts with a thinner pad the longer rides do get uncomfortable. So now all I wear are mens (brand) Hoss (style) Ponderosa shorts. The combination of both make my rides pretty darn comfortable - oh except for the breathing part (but that's another story).

I would ask Burner what she uses. She puts in quite a few miles each week.

Well this makes my search easier.
Allison, I have WTB Rocket - it's a guy's seat. Surlygurl I also wear guy shorts they are more comfortable. Who the heck makes the girls shorts? We need to work on those. Thank goodness I am not the only girl on the trail wearing guy shorts. I really like the seats Den Mother uses - I am going to try one of those. BTW - Foofighter I looked for you at Aliso today. I didn't see anyone. Julia and I had a great ride.
