Thumbs up We guys are sooo lucky!
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]Cathy’s (CC) recent crash at BB got me to thinking this morning. We all know what a rough and dangerous sport this is as we all have our scars to prove it (although Keith does tend to over do it!) … The amount of girls now riding (all ages) is increasing and I guess you would expect more crashes; but, when girls crash and burn, it seems to me hurt more. [/SIZE][/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]Therefore, I want to give recognition & props to all the girls in our Tribe that mountain bike. You girls blow me away in your zeal and fun factor. You’re always a pleasure to have along on the trails… besides, everyone knows you take the best pictures and smell a lot better than most guys! [/SIZE][/FONT]

They all rock! I dig chicks that ride. Always see a couple I know in Aliso on my late afternoon SS ride before I go to work. That's why I'm always late to work on those days.

Some of the nicest and best riders I have ridden ahhhhh I mean with "rode with" have been girls.

Something sexy about a woman that is not afraid of getting her legs dirty

Makes me feel a tad better.

My last conversation with an orthopedic surgeon:

Dr: "when did you have arthroscopy?"
Me: "I've never had arthroscopy"
Dr: "then what are all these scars on your legs from?"

d'oh

Props to my wife Shorty, too, she does take better photos than I do, she also has bigger scars than me

Hanging out with the guys and girls that aren't afraid to get dirty - now that's fun .

High maintenance is overrated, as is leg modeling. I'd rather count my bruises on sat afternoon while sipping a beer after clearing the hills I couldn't until today. You guys really do rock.

I cant even say I ride like a girl because all of them on this site would kick my ass on a ride!!!

Mad props to ANY female that rides... I would of loved if my ex-gf rode...

Thanks Guys, it's really great to be a part of a community that really looks after and apprciates there own. I grew up around horses and did rodeo for the first half of my life, which is also a male dominate sport, but I've never let getting bucked off stop me from persuing a sport I'm absolutely passionate about. And the truth is half of my scars on my shins are from barrel racing.

Anyway, it's really nice to hear from my fellow riders, whether male or female, how much the female species is apprciated on the trail. I think it's great to see so many females out on the trails lately. It gives us an opportunity to share issues specific to us. So hopefully the trend continues.

One hint to you fathers: Encourage you daughters to participate in sports of any kind, and practice with them. It prepares them so much better for life.

I did all I could to raise her right. Coached her in soccer for many years, got her into racing offroad RC cars, mountain biking, etc. She even works part time in a bike shop.

But in the end she still fell in with the wrong crowd....

Well there's only so much a father can do. You try to raise them right and sometimes they don't see the light. I hope it doesn't lead into deeper evils. Like snubing her nose at those who like to ride dirty.

Thanks for being such a great group of guys and gals! I've never felt intimidated or unwelcome. I wish more of my girl - friends would ride, they all seem to think I'm insane for what I do. Actually even if I didn't ride they would still think I'm insane. But that's another story. To my riding sista's out on the trail thanks for being out on the trails with me. I wouldn't give this up for anything.
