for $2......I would have kept it and perhaps given it to someone who needed a meal.........more than that? donate to some worthy cause.......including student loans and beer fridge awareness?

I'm all about good Karma. So if it was two bucks or $200, I'd find a way to put the money to good cause.
Like for $2 I'd keep it in the car and give it to the first homeless person I saw. For $200, I'd definitely post flyers like the other person said and if no one claimed it, I'd donate it to tail work, or something like that. If it was lost on the trail, the person obviously uses the trails, so it would benefit all. I've been in this situation a lot lately. I was a horrible teenager so I need all the good Karma I can get. I found a $20 bill under my table at a restaurant. No one came back for it in the 45min it took me to eat, so I left it as and extra tip on top of my normal tip. Last night I found a laptop bag with a nice computer in it, in a parking lot (No Shit). It obviously fell out of someone's car and they didn't notice it. I had to turn it on to get the user name, and track the person down with what ever info was in the bag. I gave it to her this morning and she started crying and hugging me. She hadn't slept all night and was so upset because her whole life was on that thing. I told her to put her business car in there so if it happened again it would be easier to find her. Good Karma- Do IT!! |

![]() I have a habit of giving things back that don't belong to me, including extra drinks in the drive through. I probably wouldn't pick up the $2, on the off shot that the people came back for it. If they did come back, for that little amount, then it must be a significant amount to them. If someone else would pick it up, probably means more to them than to me, I can always work an extra hour at work if I need an extra buck, they may not have the chance/ability. Not for me to decide, I want to keep my karma. If more, I'd pick it up and notify the park rangers, or turn it in to them.

Man, I've been having a really great streak of luck lately and I have to believe it's karma. I typically give to the people asking for money when it's conveinent, I don't like holding up traffic to do this though. I always stop and pick up money. I find a lot more in the streets.
Once up on the SART we stopped for a break and a friend of mine found a real old half dollar that was in really good condition.

Being that the money was on a trail, my guess it was under 30 bucks...Usually I take 15 to 30 bucks in case I need to barter with someone, ride, water, food, phone call...etc.
If I was suffice with my own funds at the time, I would leave it and carry onto my destination....then again, it might have been a hiker's cash and the mountain lion probably took the hiker and left the cash for the next fool to stop and gather the cash..... smart lions are always awaiting their next prey! |

No matter the amount, I would put it towards a good cause. Maybe throw it in the offering at church or something.

Getting back on the bike.

Thanks... I thought I dropped that somewhere.
Give it to STR, give it to charity, or hand it off to the next kid you see on the trail. That'll get them youngsters on the trails when that rumor goes through the elementry class!
