Once again the man has prevailed in the battle of the Rattle Snake Trail. After all the work that had put into the trail, on Monday all was lost to city bulldozer. I guess you could say it was coming due to all the man made terrain that popped up so quickley, but it was fun while it lasted. So anyone thinking if riding "SNAKES", just keep pedaling to 7th St, or A-Side. I guess it is better than closing the whole trail down.

bummer...
....never rode the man-made items, but last time I was there it was obvious that people were not happy with them. see Turnbull - "alterations"?Perhaps moderation from all sides is a better answer than 4 jumps or 0 jumps? Much of that side seems to be part of a city/county nature park or something (could be just the 7th ave side though...not sure)

Myself, I would have rather seen more jumps made from dirt rather than wood. It probably would have been left alone if that were the case. As far as the branches go, I have had my fair share of rolling over branches going down the middle trail of Rattlesnake. One time there was even a boulder at the bottom of a drop. I dont know where the middle ground would be between the city and the riders. We are supposed to share the trail, but I hardly see any hikers on that trail. Also, if the riders are to have to suffer the wrath of the city, why not have the Rangers ticket the idiots who let thier dogs run free on the trail. Its just frustrating when you spend time cleaning the trail up to make it rideable, now its all torn to shreds again.

Awwwwee Man, Say it ain't so!
The guys (1 in particular) who spent so much time improving the trail (not just the ladder drops) must be rather upset right now! The trail would be unridable if not for them! Bullsh!t.Inkslinger- you promised an appearance at the Fully ride. What gives? |

Yeah, what he said. All the nice traction that the riders there worked on, all the nice berms, etc were replaced by tons of loose stuff.

And if it wasn't bad enough the fires on 8.21 were in Whittier national aka Turnbull, but the news hasn't showed where.
