The Real Slim Shady

Well it's finally done. Went down to the Path today to pick up my wife's extra small Turner Flux. I think it's pretty sweet looking.
Ever since I picked up my One9 about a month ago I have been riding it exclusively during the week after work here in Ladera. My wife has been itching to ride with me especially during the times when I take and pull our 14mo old daughter in her Chariot trailer. She has an old 01 GT iDrive [small] that my brother has had for the past 2months and doesn't want to give it back, thus she has sacked up and has ridden my RFX... So one afternoon I get this call from Tani he's known that I've been waiting for a run of xs Turner Fluxes... they just don't do many as the demand is really low. He says something like Tani: Rodel, Turner is having a run of xs Fluxes you want one. me: uhhh... HELL YEAH. Tani: what color? none of them have been painted yet me: Pink.. wait wait... RAW [what was I thinking it was for my wife not me ]... wait wait wait, just make it Pink... Gail loves pink.Tani: cool, it'll be here in a couple of weeks. me: sweet see you tomorrow with my deposit. Now it's just a waiting game for the frame to arrive. I am doing my usual surfing of STR and MTBR one evening and Gail happens to be looking for my shoulder while I peruse the 2007 Turner setup databases. We come across a picture of a RAW Spot... to my surprise she actually really likes it. Damn I'm thinking to myself I shoulda got the raw... First thing in the morning I placed a call to Tani and had him change my order to a raw frame, hoping it wasn't to late. A few weeks later after waiting for different parts for the bike to show up it's all done. We went for ride this evening and it fits her much better than her old bike. We still need to fine tune the cockpit for her with bar height and stem length, but overall she's just so much happier on her new bike. Sorry for blabbering, I'm just much more excited for her and her new bike than I have ever been with any of mine... so on with the pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() weight came in a bit heavier than I thought but her platforms are heavy and I could have shaved a few grams with XTR cranks and XO r.der... but it's respectable ![]() |

Rodel,
Approve of the pink accessories. Are those I9 wheels?.. couldn't quite make them out. Completely understand your excitement at building this up for the wife. Good job!OMR

Really stiff and light. I haven't noticed any flex on them at all. These are my 3rd set of I9s, I only had an issue with the first set, loose hub/shell that I9 replaced and the Path installed. Now if only they were more readily available in custom colors.
