Doubly so. If you look closely, you'll see a log on the ground at the bottom of and behind the ladder. There was a missing rung one up from the bottom, and that log "bridged" the gap. If the ladder had slid out the slightest bit, that gap would've opened to perfect wheel snagging size and resulted in an instant Game Over OTB.
