Default GPS v. who's got one and which model?

Tossing around the idea of getting a Garmin PC-GPSMAP CSX handheld and was curious who had what and what you used it for.

I would want;

altitude
distance
coordinates/mapping/waypoints
compass

Speed on occasion.

Edge 305 also. If I had to chose between bringing my Edge or my pump and spare tire on a ride, I would pick the Edge every time.

At least that way I would know EXACTLY how far I had to push my bike.

I swallowed the Edge 305 pill as well. Love it! I did have one problem a couple of road rides ago. I was trying to catch back up with the front group on The Path ride and when I got home and hooked it up to the computer my max speed was 103.

Garmin Customer Service is good... I had a problem with the heart rate sending strap thing where the o-ring on the batt door was pinched upon the initial assembly. Basically I ride, I sweat and sweat got in there and cooked the whole thing. I went to their web site, filled out a short form and a day later they sent me a RA. I sent the strap in and received a brand new one in the box like a week later.

Compass???? anybody remember these... Oh that's right you have to have skill to use one.... I would never find my way out of a paper bag

No. It's because I'm lazy, or Justin said no when I asked if I could send it in after I broke it. It's still sitting there all broken.

No, by all means a compass rules.

I'm partial to them myself but these days you can't go wrong with a few satallites charting your path.

PICS OF COMPASS?

That's no error, I think I rode with you that day. You were probably just on good form.
