Default Downieville questions

Going to Downieville at the end of the month and I was wondering:

Armor or not? Most pics I see show no body armor but...

Shuttles-Yuba or D-ville outfitters?

Yeti 575 or Motiv 5.0? Kidding...

Later,
Rossage

no armor needed IMO. too much climbing anyway.

Yuba does most of the shuttle runs from what i saw.

make sure you do, sunshine, butcher, 2nd and 1st divide... preferably in that order

big boulder is fun, but a b*tch to get to

i liked third divide much better than second, although second had that one cool section with all the ferns and stuff.

big boulder should be on top of everyone's list.

you need two shuttle runs up there.
1 sunshine-butcher-2nd divide-1st divide
2 big boulder-3rd divide - 1st divide

i hear the XC stuff is amazing but we didn't have enough time to hit that up. too much beer to drink!

Yuba Outfitters

There are some fast downhills. Nothing too gnarly but if you're unsure of yourself at high speed wear the armor. A dude got helicoptered out with a broken femur when we were there.

Butcher, Big Boulder, 2nd Divide - Not to be missed.

lets not forget that there is some good exposure out there as well... if you go fast, you don't really notice it tho

Thanks everyone. I'm leaving for Sacramento (work) tomorrow until Labor day so I'm going to hit up Auburn State Rec area, Folsom Lake and Downieville. Later, Rossage
