Default Singlespeeder new to the site.

Ok I don't even remember how I found this site but I love it. For some reason I ride my singlespeed the most when i have pleanty of other bikes hanging in the garage. I have a gary fisher rig just wanted a single speed just for fun and have gotten hooked even raced it in 24 hours of vail lake. Only changes made were to run a 34-18 gearing, truvativ 180mm cranks, and hayes disc brakes. Would like to know what other single speeders are running and would also like to know if any single speeders out there would like to get together to have a thow down on a hill climb challange for braggin rights.

Whatever you do... don't offer to race the little guy in a Jenson jersey (Jeff, right??). He'll mop the trail with you Oh, Jose and Klutter and fast also!!

Welcome aboard! I'm on the DL for the next 3-5 but I'm on the SS wagon as well, and Allison is right. Jeff is a coworker of mine and he's the only guy I know that can peel out on a bike and got faster than you pumping for your life. If your ever in the IE for a ride let me know.

Question

Where are you at? I ride a 29er SS most of the time. Running a nice easy 34 X 22 ... which is kind on hills and flats for a 29er.

damm.. I *totally* forgot to give SS props to Andy and Neil (who I've never seen SS btw )

All fast guys!! If you can keep up with everyone listed then you're an elite club.

Oh, don't forget Jammer!!! He's deceiving, btw. Looks like you couldn't keep up with him, but WATCH OUT. He went on the San Juan SS sufferfest and I don't think I saw him after the parking lot

Good call....not only is Adam good... but he's got a full suspension SS and laughs at the rocky stuff on the trails as well.

As for Andy... that dude hauled a heavily load bob with ice and beer up to Beek's Place on the recent ride ... all the while carrying a portable CD player on his back. He was well appreciated along the trail!!!

Welcome!
I broke my little Ti SS and even my beloved Pink Bianchi SS just doesn't feel the same after riding Ti..I've been towing the daughter around lately on the ARC with gears and it has been alot easier on the knees and darn if that Chumba XCL isn't just a hoot to pedal around but I always find my way back to the SS...it keeps me honest and I like to suffer
Hope to see you on the trails!

Lots of SS's here. I have one as well on 26", running 32/18 right now, but switching to 34/19 to try and eliminate the tensioner.

I also have a few bikes and rotate from geared F/S to HT to SS, depends what mood I'm in.

I'd be in for a climbfest too!

As far as fast, Cameron Brenneman
! but I don't think he counts, cause he's not human! and not on STR

Wow, another Fallbrook rider--North County represent!! And another SSer to boot.

To all those who have yet to drink the SS Kool-Aid, I have but this to say: We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service ours. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

Welcome! I'm running my Niner with a 32x20 and 175 cranks. I tried longer cranks but hated them. 34x18 sounds like you're walking a lot? Or maybe not and we should call you Vino.

I just got on my Turner for the first time in ages yesterday and hated that too! Squishy and gears... meh. Anyone want to buy my bike?
