helmet mount is good for tight trails like Luge IMO. Fully loop, a handlebar mount would be better so you can still see in the dust

Switched from helmet to bar mount for exactly the reason Nam mentions. With so many people out on Thursdays, all the helmet light did was illuminate the dust in front of my face--was like driving with high beams on in a thick fog. No bueno. Bar mount's definitely the hot ticket on the Loop.

The new minewt is twice as bright as the old one. I use a minewt on my road bike for night runs up Chantry and other mountain roads, and it works well. I use an older night rider for my mountain bike, and it works great.

I run a new style blackburn X3. I like it a lot and it provided light for myself and 2 others on a recent ride.
