All I know is that I have been a lurker for over two years on this site under my husbands screen name, and had my own for a couple months now, and everyone has always treated each other and the trails with the utmost respect. Yes, some talk trash, heck most of them do, but it is always done in fun, with never any malice behind it. I have never found anything remotely mean spirited or rude on this site until today. Yes some newbies come on and have sarcasm or trash talk, but again, always in fun, and always there is still respect for the other members and the trails.
As I have watched this thread go, yes, it has been entertaining, but at times I have sat here and scratched my head, wondering, "Who the heck does this guy think he is?" At first I thought he was joking, but as the posts went on, he seemed dead serious. This person knows who they are, as does anyone else who has followed this thread. As the wife of one of the seriously hurt bikers, I do not appreciate his assumptions. My husband has complete and total respect for any trail and any bike he is on. But it is nature and things change that you might not know about. Accidents happen, and they happen to anyone. Do not demean others. If by chance this person was joking, they did a crap job of expressing that. I believe that you owe a sincere apology for those who you have talked smack about, because this is an amazing group of riders and they do not deserve to be talked down to by someone who comes out of nowhere and later says they are a beginner. That is just my piece. Thank you for letting me vent. I'm done now.

i still never got a legit answer to my question, and i know i never will. my intent wasnt to talk any shit to this guy, and i still dont believe i did. it is pretty sad that he made a mockery of our friends who have suffered serious injuries on the loop. like many others have said, crashes do occur ANYTIME and ANYWHERE no matter what skill level an individual rider is. to say that someone has "issues" because they crash on the loop is flat out ignorant.

Yeti,
Maybe we missunderstood your original post. In all honesty it ss easy to add tones to a post when the words aren't spoken. And maybe a few of us passionate folk who are concerened for the well being of those who have been injured recently took slights from your words.

I beleive they took it personally because we hold each other in such high regaurds (regaurdless of talent and ability) and your words took a swing at the honor, the respect, and yes the ego of the community.

I noticed that in any other thread you've posted you brought cohesion and positive input, which is what we appreciate. So I am going to appologize for my brash words, and assumed tones, and hope that when we meet (in 4-6 weeks mind you) we can joke about this.

Faaaloalo Tele Uso.

Default Sorta reminds me....

Mt Rainer in Washington State is over 14,000 ft and yet it is very accessable. Hordes of people tramp all over the mountain every year... and many die every year as, because it is so accessible and convenient, people take the mountain for granted...show up in tennis shoes, no water and no jacket... get stranded when a snow squall comes in and whites out everything and freeze to death in the middle of July.

You could draw the same comparison with the Fullerton Loop. It's easily accessible, convenient and known by most as a pretty easy trail...all to easy to become complaisant and get hurt.

Just like climbing, mountain biking is a risk sport & experienced climbers die all the time of easy mountain routes... just like experienced mountain bikers crash and hurt themselves on seemingly easy trails... the nature of the beast.

Looks like Yeti isn't doing the best of jobs making friends. Insulting nameless people is one thing. Personally attacking my Homie GUERO- that's another!

Wow, I can't believe he kept on pushing like that. Rather unfortunate to have that kind of mentality floating around.

How about banned for a week and on probation for a year?

Not cool to make fun of people who crash/fall, because we all do that all the time. I know I do! I ate shit again today at Laguna Wilderness, but no concussion this time at least

Like everyone has said in here, you can crash anywhere at any time, especially at the Loop. Two weeks ago I ate shit at the Loop because I made too sharp of a left turn heading down to the 2nd set of railroad tracks. I was digging rocks out of my knee for the next two days. It's still all nasty.

And I know I'll keep crashing because I'll always keep pushing myself to get better! Learning the hard way is sometimes the best thing you can do. I just don't want to hurt myself too badly!!

You are correct in the statement that we all crash and if you do not crash you are not pushing yourself to become a better rider. Good to hear that you survived today in LW

Seems to me the person in question made an ignorant, uninformed, off the cuff comment, was overwhelmingly called out, realized the flub, and got completely buried trying to back their way out.

This person wasn't out there shoving sticks in spokes, people, nor were they laughing at other's injuries. Try to keep in mind the effect a massive piling-on has on the no
