Damn...I have issues. I need to talk to a therapist because I'm have some repressed psychological stuff going on.

The Loop did this to me about 5 years ago. That little gash required 8 stitches. I need to resolve these issues I never knew I had:

I also bruised my collarbone, gashed up both shins, and broke my thumb.

Anything can happen anywhere. Depending on the place, the chances can be low, but to quote Dumb and Dumber:

"So you're saying there's a chance..."

Gotta agree - accidents can happen anywhere especially when you don't give a trail any respect.

Just in the past couple weeks, Fully has claimed guys with 10+ years of riding experience, with freeride experience (mac), and who have scored awesome counting coupe times (keith). Chris is a solid rider also but his most horrific crashes have come at the loop.

Injuries can happen anywhere.

I have been riding the loop since before you were born. So I guess that makes it MY loop!

To echo Gonz, The Only thing that an experienced rider can be blamed of for a crash on the loop is a lack of respect for the trail. After 30 + times riding the same path you allow yourself to become over confident; having handed the loop and all its surprises its tail countless times.

There is no Issue / Issues with riders who crash, experienced or not. We are all pushing the boundaries of who and what we are. Albeit we ride as a whole the sport is inherently and intimately personal. Why We're so tight as a whole is that as we've ripped our known boundaries and past fears apart and shared our experience in that trial with those who surround us.

Of all the guys that have crashed on the loop in this group (especially the severely injured 'experienced' riders) All of us had a smile within moments of the crash (aside from SAR_boats, but thats cause he was unconscious. Knowing him well I know he smiled to himself while staring at the celling in the hospital) and will never quit.

Also, We talk A LOT of trash, BUT when the crap hits the fan, Its business time. And you'll never find a better group of individuals that make sure your safe, or will do everything they can to help you survive long enough for the pro's to get to you.

Well said. Plus if we all rode IRON HORSE bikes stuff like that would never happen.

You must also keep in mind that circumnavigating the Loop in 45 minutes is far different than doing it and hour or more.

With increased speed comes increased risk.

Well at least with the armor you won't get all scraped up if you loose your footing walking down.
