Default WTF?? It's raining

I was just about to head out on a ride a few minutes ago when it started raining!! What the heck??

I am hesitant to drive the 30-40 minutes to the trailhead now (I don't mind getting wet, but the trail I was gonna ride doesn't do well in the rain).

We had a few drops driving through Temecula, but that was it. Mebbe I should go do a dance. I did mention both times it sprinkled for half a second that we really need the rain!!

I waited about an hour or so and finally decided to just head on out. It sprinkled pretty good all the way to Lake Hodges but that was it. Had a good ride with my son and was glad we went out.

We got passed rather rudely (front guy clipped/grazed me and then almost knocked my son over and barely muttered a 'sorry') on the way out to HH and then saw the same guys again when we got there. One of the guys saw my SS and did a doubletake and then came over to ask me about it. He was admiring the build when I pointed out that "only kids and newbies need gears at Hodges, so which one are you?" He laughed nervously and they rode away--one was on an epic and the other a Stumpy and were definitley not newbies

I must be some sort of jerk magnet at Hodges. I have had so many run-ins with rude people there. That and people always seem surprised to see me on a SS. I know I'm big, but I'm not that big.

I was in the water in Laguna this afternoon and some big drops started to fall. Monsoon type rain.

We need rain badly - it's dusty out there! I don't think the 35 seconds of light drizzling did much good though.

It's coming down some more here in Fallbrook this morning. The ground is soaked and it's sprinkling steadily.

Looks like we had some rain last night in Long Beach. Not a lot but at least it's something.

It sprinkled for a few minutes yesterday while I was riding. I was hoping for a real downpour, but no luck.

The vast majority of people we see out there are on Novara's or similar, so many of them don't even notice SS or not

Glad you guys enjoyed your ride.

We also woke up to damp pavement today. Lots of abnormal traffic for no reason. Oh wait, water had fallen from the sky in CA, so no one could drive.

Rained pretty hard up here in the mountains last night. It would have been nice to have the rain on Saturday night to keep the dust down at Fawnskin. It should be a fun ride now without the grit in the teeth.

In Sedona right now (RR to follow when we get home), and had a few sprinkles throughout our ride yesterday, before it unloaded on us in the last mile. Very fun & refreshing! If you can time a ride between the heat and the showers this is a great time to ride here.

Glad to hear a few drops are landing in SoCal too - we need it bad!

Ya, I averaged about 45-50 MPH down the 15 from Fallbrook to Daley this morning because of it. I think a good ice storm would wipe out half the population in car accidents alone.

You mean Novarra's aren't high end??

They're high end for some people... but probably not compared to your SS It's all about perception!

It took us a hella long time to get to work this morning and we only go 4.5 miles. Would've been quicker on bikes, but I needed a rest day and also glad I didn't get road spray anyway.
