Default Major props where props are due!!!

We did the Irvine Land Trust Bommer Canyon ride this morning... a great turn out of 25 riders... even J-Sims showed up....luckily we had enough docents. Also saw a first: Jeff semi-falling on the boulders at Rabbit Run... that area really getting chewed up & loose... we really need rain!

Major props to Adam (Jam-r) for running the show. Great job as usual... and speaking of Adam, just want to personally thank him for all the hours he puts in seeing that we riders in SoOC have great trails to ride on in the Irvine Land Trust areas. Not only does he walk the walk (rides a full suspension SS... how many people can say that?)... but he talks the talk (just review the number of quality posts on this board about issues that affect us all as riders). Always ready for a ride... our 3 hour ride turned into a 4 1/2 hr 26 mile ridefest.. started out with 25 and ended up with 5 riders doing the extra credit.

Anyway, I just wanted to give Adam major props for his efforts... they are appreciated by many here.

OMR

PS: Shhhh.... Adam's also planning a 60+ mile epic in November for the troops... may leave the SS at home for that one!

Default Hey, Willie I where there too Ha ha

Aaron had a tough spill at the rock section. He is ok just a little scratched up. It was fun when I got to hit the DH . Although I had to close my eyes for most of the ride. Bells Palsy Sucks! You think my face looks weird you should see me try to eat or drink. It was nice weather. The cloud cover really helped us out . Jeff Rocks the Canyon . I think I need to go hit some free ride areas with him some time when I am feeling better and can see. Jeff send me a PM when you have time. Steve was ripping it up on the vintage mantis. That bike is a timeless classic.
J sim (Jason) Was sporting the niner fs with gears. He made the climbs look easy. I don't know how many miles that ride was but I feel like I climbed more than I descended . Was I ripped of one the DH payoff ?
I am sure there is more to say I will come back when it comes up.

I totally agree. I did the advance Bommer Canyon ride with him, Jeff(hoosierdaddy) and Keith E. That ride is fun. Don't think we did as many miles as you guys this weekend. I would definitely recommend this ride for anyone. I will be there for the epic.

I'll post some pics tomorrow. I thought I met everyone - OMR, I must have missed you.....

A very fun ride and the hills were tough. I REALLY have to improve my skills.

I blame everything on this Thursday's Loop ride!
Spooked me a little bit. Everytime I came to rocks I got a severe case of collar-bone-itis.

I'm tired - thanks and good night!

Nice seeing you guys out there. Thought I stopped to say hi, but didn't realize how many STR riders there were! So, a belated hi to you all (I saw you guys as you were breaking into groups for El Moro--I was on my black RacerX)

I totally agree about the rides, and Adam, he is a wonderful leader. I did his the baby epic ride (I think it was 35 miles?!?). However, sounds like this November ride is the mother of epics.

Nice to see Wilemina (sp?) out there as well. The last few Bommer rides have been serious testosterone overloads

Sorry guys - two kids, five water polo games at three different pools - just got home.

Once again MAJOR thanks to Adam (Jam-r) for the excellent treatment. I left early with the 57 construction and got there at 6:30. Adam had just arrived and he spent a 1/2 hour filling me in on the ride and history of the area. His posts always reflect wisdom and so do his actions. Thanks!

I'm sorry more pictures didn't turn out. Seems storing you camera next to ice cold water in the Camelback causes fogging.

Anyway, the early morning fog was great for riding but killed any vista shots.

The view from the parking lot. You can't make it out, but the route we took had a 30%+ grade that forced 99% of normal folks to hike-a-bike a LONG way.

Well, I couldn't figure out how to add text in-between the photos

1. Aaron after his little ODB incident at the end of Rabbit Run.

2. The view from the parking lot.

3. Most of the smart one's walking down the big drops.

4. It's hard to see, but the Jeff (Hoosierdaddy) is walking back up for a second run. He got his pants a little dirty on a small slip.

5. Mr. & Mrs. Chumba - thanks for the company.

6. I don't know the name of the hill, but Jeff came within a few feet of cleaning it. Seems a lunch was bet on the outcome. The picture can't capture the steepness of the hill.

7 & 8. With the fog, these were the best views I got.

9. This is a shot of the BIG hill we climbed to start. Again, the picture is misleading. You can barely see three riders on the run. I didn't even notice the water bars on the hike-a-bike up but I sure noticed the first one on the way down (a little too much air for OTHRider).

The pics of J Sims and Hoosierdaddy were way to foggy - sorry. Adam, you shall remain the mystery voice of reason.

Thanks to all again.
