Default Rode today in the concrete jungle v. out of shape

This weekend I'm on call at work, well for the entire next week as well. So I couldn't go too far from a laptop and internet access to fix stuff at work.

I decided to go for a ride today reguardless but in that urban jungle called San Gabriel Valley.

It was a little more than 20 miles and for an out of shape guy like myself, I think I did pretty good.

20 is probably not a lot for most people but my legs feel like spagetti right now.

hahahahahahahahah

it was still fun!

20 miles is a decent ride!! It's always good to get out. We did 16 miles and today and we're WORKED! Course, we climbed nearly 4000ft and then descended one of the most difficult singletrack's I've come upon (worse than Joplin, IMO).

It is a decent ride but it was mostly flat and down hill to my gf's house and then the street she said would be a nice ride (by all the rich peoples houses).. turned out to be all uphill till I got to arrow highway/110.

I would like to be in shape enough to not embrass myself on an off road ride and not hold up anyone that I go with. Although I'll probably BE the guy in the back of the pack.

4,000 feet is a LOT and a singletrack...

I have no reference as to how difficult certain things are.. like single track but aparently it's one of the more challenging things.

Sure hope I'm in shape enough to to along some weekend.

My first ride a couple years ago when i first got the bike was the one off Reseda blvd and go south all the way to the top of the hill and through the gate at the end.

It has that nice really steep hill up to the fire road and then the really long steep hill to the top...

I literally thought half way up the really long hill that I was going to have a heart attack, like I was going to pass out tired/exhausted...

Someone will knwo where I'm talking about...

thats how I feel, I suck right now.

BUT I do feel very good after riding each time... ok, so I sleep almost the rest of the day.

I also don't fell anything today. Last few weeks of riding, my left ankle hurt (prior motorcycle accident 12 years ago) and my legs hurt.

Not anymore...

I cant wait to ride next.. probably this week one day to or from work.
