This is just an idea .
We used to show up at the track on our practice bikes wearing flannels and work boots. Looking like total flounders. Then roll up to the hardest tracks and just rip it up. I think that it would be a lot of fun to get some old rusty Huffy with a chain guide and a foam goose neck pad and a Kick stand. Make sure the fork is way bent in like it has been run into a curb many times . Then put Neil on it with a flannel shirt and show up at a ride where the guys have all high end bikes. Then Neil roll right by them on a climb honking a frog horn and eating twinkies while giggling where is the hills on this ride. ![]() Neil are you in? We just need a lot of stealth helmet cams to get the reactions on film. |

Which way did he go?

I was reading an excerpt in a magazine from Brian Lopes that said they he and some friends used to do the same thing. He used to have an old beater from a pawn shop and ride against guys with the $4-5000 Carbons and just school 'em - laughing all the way to the finish.
I think it would be classic to see the look on the poor guy's face....

Jason,
I have been wanting to do a beach cruiser run at the loop...flip flops, rubber pedals, coaster brake, big cushy saddle, wicker basket..could be fun! Anyone interested? I wonder what the lap time would be like ![]()

I've rode with Brian Lopes and I'll tell you, you can put that guy on any bike you want and he'd still smoke anyone on this site. He is scary fast. People don't think of him as an xc type guy, but he really is. God given talent for that boy.

I went to an all cruiser ride at Fairview Mesa park in Costa Mesa. It was fun.
There was a hill climb contest, sprint races and a timed no pedal gravity downhill. linky: terminaut : Cruiser Cotilion 2003 I'll bring my cruiser. |
