They are going to share the Cleveland’s Annual Report as well. This is an important meeting to attend to see the direction the Forest Service is headed and to have a voice in the process. It was good to see OMR, Gene, Dean, and the other Jeff(hoosierdaddy) this evening at the open house... I think that we all had a differant idea as to what to expect from this event. there were 3 stations that you could visit, with a representative at each station.

Station 1 - Route designation primarily dealing with route designed for motorized vehicles

Station 2 - Proposed Seasonal Closure dealing primarily with protecting the Nesting raptors (Golden Eagles/Prairie Falcons) Environmental impact of recreational use of hiking, climbing, OHV use and mountain biking. ther are 4 options under review ranging from no action to temporary closures throughout parts of Eastern San Diego (Eagle Peak, Rock Mountain, Corte Medera, and Glencliff) from Dec 1st through May 30th.

Station 3 Forest Projects - Current land management, future aquisitions, curent schedules for the above proposed actions (1 and 2)

We also managed to have a conversation with a ranger that is based in Corona and talked about more of the above issues and forest access challlenges.

It turned out to be a relatively informative evening although there was no open forum to really dive into MTB access or trail development. Either way STR was represented and Gene and I now understand exactly what a modern day Raptor is...
