Default Tag Wheels

Check out what we just got in to review.

I did a post about them with some video of the company explaining them and a video of the Magura Flow show where the riders are using these wheels.

A bit on the heavy side, but super durable!

have you made a post yet that doesnt have a link to your site bubb? i think your post could have been just as effective if you didnt include the link to your site. its one thing to have it in your signature, but to continually make new threads with links to your site smells like spam in my book.

Guero, I had multiple photos and vids that I wanted to share which I didn't think it would be considerate to post all of it.

We have RR's with over 20 photos and videos. I'm sure posting your wheel pics wouldn't have been an issue. You've got PM.

Those wheels are joke! Anyone see the weights? Each wheel weighs as much as a pair of Mavic SX wheels!

Durable? At that weight, you could build a lot more durable and stiff wheels with spokes...heck...at a fraction of that weight!

I raced on Skyway mags and Skyway graphites on my BMX bikes back in the day. For some reason, I'm having the same visual of flexy wheels. That was a bad memory (the OP said he had good memories of those old mags - he must not have actually ridden them).

They could have made these for tubeless use, but they drilled the rims out for schraeder valves - DOH!!!

Even with the so-called wealth of information offered on the web-site, there is no comment of how they actually perform, stiffness, or freewheel performance.

Who would buy these things???

I'm with guero on this...label this post as SPAM!!!!

Default Come try them out

2WheelLee,

If you're interested, come try them out. I'll be riding Aliso Woods on Saturday around 12:30 pm.

We haven't posted how they ride on the site because we just got them. It hasn't even seen dirt.

Yeah you're right, they're heavy. My bike already heavy bike now weighs 40lbs!

Seriously, since you've ridden with mags before, I'd like to see what you think of the wheels. So send me a PM. I also live in Fullerton and ride the Loop quite often. Unfortunately I work some crazy hours so I don't get to ride nights often. I have to be in bed by 7pm.

Thanks,

RL

Honestly, I am not interested in riding them. They are way to heavy to be useful on a bicycle - any bicycle! It's no amazing technological feat to build a 4 pound bicycle wheel.

They are obviously not intended as DH wheels:
QR front and rear axles (no 20 mm thru axle for the front)
The rear is only 135 mm (not 150 like most DH bikes)

So as I mentioned, I don't know who would ever want to use these wheels on an XC bike.

I think the real question is, what is your interest in the wheels or having the company as your "partner"?

2wheel,

They do have DH wheel sets. I asked for QRs since the the test bike I have is a XC bike. We work with various companies in which we do product reviews and prototype testings. When ever we work with them, consider them our partners.

I understand if you don't like the wheels, that's fine. To each his own, right.

But the offer is there for any that might be interested in trying them out.

Just a suggestion...if you're trying to write a review that you want to be viewed as unbiased, then you don't want the company you're reviewing the products for to be considered as a partner. Otherwise, most people will think you're "in bed" with your partner and you won't give a fair review.

On the other hand, if you're just reviewing prototype products, then it doesn't really matter, anyway. A review of a preproduction products is worthless. On a side note, I've owned "production" forks and various parts that were sent to magazines for "testing." I can assure you that these parts are not what Joe Consumer gets. MBA will never tell you that (and as I said, I've had wonder parts they've tested as production parts).

Oh I see now, at about $1k for a wheelset and about ~1900gm/wheel... You get ONE heavy azz wheelset that weighs the same and costs the same as TWO nice custom wheelsets. Is there a motor built into these somewhere?

Ugh, no Thanks TAG. I don't even want to try them.

Complete Wheel Weights

Complete wheel weights include composite wheel and hub without QR, thru axle, thru bolt.
WHEELSET 110mm / 20mm thru, 135mm / 12mmthru

Front:
Grams = 1828 g
Ounces = 64 oz
Pounds = 4.0 lbs

Rear:
Grams = 1928 g
Ounces = 68 oz
Pounds = 4.2 lbs
