A bear cub was killed by a mountain lion on friday in the Claremont Hills. Momma bear has been seen around Webb Canyon Road. Just be alert riding our local area for the lion and hopefully they won't get crazy and run out and shoot it!! I hate that. They were here first and we're lucky to enjoy their home in the wilderness.
Enjoy just be alert.

bears are cool but not when they're dead

I thought they were kidding when we were told there was a mountain lion up there. It had made a kill and they asked us to avoid the Potato mountain trail. I wonder now if the kill was the cub, or something else. I've seen the mother a few times, never seen the cub, but I do believe I saw the daddy once. Big ol dude and he could book it fast.

Apparently that kitty never learned the simple rule of: don't screw with momma bears or their offspring, it will get you killed quicker than going to the Apollo wearing a swastika. Ballsy cat tho...
