Talking Whistler Question

Going to Whistler in August and saw that bike rentals are 99 dollars at the mountain, even in Canadian thats steep if you are there for 7 days. So, now the question is which bike do I take, MKIII Team or my SGS Pro Freeride. I know on paper its an easy answer, Whistler deserves a Freeride bike, lots of downhill not much pedaling. Also, just got back from Mammoth, and rode my MKIII for the first time up there, and must say, I missed the Beast(SGS). The Team got tossed around a bit, but I guess its good for me. improves my mad skills. I have been to Whistler many times, skiing and boarding, but this is my first summer trip.
Just want to get some feedback from people that have been there, and also if you took your rig, how you transported it.
I am flying SWA to Seattle, and looks like the dimension limits are 80" total, that might be tough, if I use a bike box or even a soft carrying case.

If you're planning on spending most of your time in the bike park, I'd recommend the SGS. Particularly if you're planning on spending time on the upper mountain (Garbanzo) runs. The MKIII is a sweet bike, but I don't think it's up to hitting stuff like the drops on Schleyer, A-Line, or the GLC.

I've always driven up, so I just put the bike in the back of the truck.
