Default Recommended OC Trek dealers?

I was about to order a fully customized fisher rig from my LBS (jax bikes) here in Irvine, but I just had a really bad experience with them today, so I'm looking for another local Trek dealer with a good reputation.

So far it looks like my options are santiago cycling/switchback cyclery/cycle werks in costa mesa/mission viejo.

Any thoughts? Basically I'm looking for a shop that is organized enough to do a warranty/exchange for me in a timely fashion should my frame spontaneously combust or something of the nature :-)

I've heard nothing but good things about the people over at Switchback... i even rode with a few of them for a short time this week during a Santiago Oaks ride. nice people for sure.

Come see us......we can see what we can do for you.

We have a 17.5" Rig in stock right now.

Santiago Cyclery is more of a roadie shop .

been in switchback a few times. they seem down. appears the were way cool with helping johnny dirt get some warrantly work even though he bought his rig elsewhere. Been to santiago as well. think more of a roadie shop and owner has a bit of a rep (i'll leave it at that). Never hit either cyclewerks locations you reference.

Switchback Cyclery is where you want to go. Mtnbikej will take very good care of you. I had taken my busted sled to him and he had it replaced and built up in just under 3 weeks!! Very nice work too, I might add.

They want to concentrate on their torture clinics. At least that is what I heard.

Folks at Switchback are super nice. If you want a Trek check them out.

Then go next door and get a Gyro at Sasoon Chicken. Yum good stuff there too.

WOO HOO!!! This made my day. Jax Irvine gave me horrible service after I bought the bike. You are lucky to realize this before you made the investment.

I wish I had bought my bike @ Switchback. They are always willing to help, and put in a lot of hours on events for mountain bikers. They are at the top of my list right now.

Santiago Cyclery.....That shop was right next to my old apt complex. I bought a Trek 4900 from them years ago. There was always something forced or strange about conversations with their people. Sometimes they were willing to help, other times they acted lilke they were too busy for you. Definitely a roadie store.

The straw that broke the camels back was when they told me they could order a Trek Fuel EX8 for me and they gave me an AWESOME deal on it. I wrote them a check for the full amount, but when I called them a week later, the day before I was supposed to pick it up, they told me they could not get my size. Thats when I picked up my check & went to Jax Irvine to spend $200 more because I could not wait.

Oh, and my entire issue was that I needed an XL frame and no shops could find one. You are in the same boat. Sorry.
