Good News! Karl's got his bike back!!!

Problem solved.....
....I just stole the bike back.

I had just finished eating sushi at Osaka Kappo and was heading to my car......a bike in a nearby bike rack caught my eye. From 100 feet away I could tell it was Karl's 29er. I was soo freakin giddy I could hardly decide what to do. It was locked up by the front wheel......I undid the front QR and took off running. Threw it on the roof of the car and got the heck outta dodge.

We headed over to the shop and grabbed Karl and a set of bolt cutters. We went back, cut the wheel loose and left the thief a nice little note:-)

I'm feeling pretty freakin good right now. I hope some pathetic bike thief has a looooooong walk home late tonight:-)

Thanks for keeping your eyes out folks, this one ended happily.

I would like to know why a licence plate number wasn't taken down and police called after the bike was reclaimed. Because we know that this guy is just going to go out and steal another bike.

However I am very glad to see that Karl got his rig back

agree with above ^^^^ post. Although i doubt it would have ended the same if it was my or a close buds bike. Think would bother me too much culprit did not get any karma of his own (i.e. payback). Mostly a "peaceful guy", but script would be written with no weak fade to black (ala Soprano's) but i'm guessing a full on case of smackdown on the d!ckhead who was in possession of the bike. Karma is one thing but openning a can of whoopa$$ can sometimes also make the wrongs it the world so right again (or at least feel that way). wow, i even feel better just thinking about it.. i;m all good now...back to work. Ride on Karl!

Although I would also have similar thoughts of inflicting pain onto the person, there's something to be said for reclaiming your property in good shape without much incident.

That is one of the best ideas I've heard... that and taking the license plate number and reporting it as a stolen car with drugs in it!
