Craig,
Sorry to hear about that. It got me thinking. I got a set of pads recently and strapped them to my HAWG for a ride. It wasn't bad, but I wondered if there was an easier way to carry them when not wearing them, especially on a long ride. Do you think one of those Topeak clip on racks would be useful? The pads could be bungied to the rack instead of on the backpack. Do you think it would be more or less secure than being strapped to the backpack? What do you think? Anyone else?

glen, in the past i've strapped my arm pads around my top tube. my leg pads would be too big for that, but i just make sure i loop at least two of the velcro straps through my camelbak incase one pops loose.
sorry to hear bout your loss craigger, where is the RR?

I always run the velcro straps of my armor wrapped around the bungy on my pack. I put one arm pad inside the other like I always do but this time the inside one slipped out I guess.
No real ride report today - I climbed from the Candy Store. The San Juan Loop trail down into the canyon was fun. The climb up Chiquito sucked since it got pretty hot early. I was solo so I didn't hit a couple of the stunts on the way back down - There's some new stuff there I hadn't seen before. Only one other group of riders and a group of trail runners today. The PO is growing onto the trail in a few spots. It felt good to ride my RFX again. It had been a while. C |

I'll have to try that one, Brett. The top tube just might work. I hadn't thought of that. Although, I hope the legs will fit. They're the one's that bug me. The arms aren't that big and they're comfy enough to just wear unless it's super hot out.
