89 bucks? We got some good riders here, we should just chip in and get them a case of beer and have them teach us a few cool tricks.

We'll be posting a class for noobs. It'll be lower budget.

You get what you pay for.

Seriously, though, I see your point. It seems like a lot of money and it is. But name another sport where you can get four or five hours with a world champ downhiller learning new skills you never knew you were even missing for $89.

STR does indeed have some good riders (at least from what I've seen in pics and vids) but nothing will catalyze your riding like a clinic with pro riders from the highest level of the sport giving you personalize coaching.

Everyone who takes the clinic ends up saying that $89 was too cheap.

Dude, a clinic/bbq would be super fun.

I'd love to organize an STR clinic if there's enough interest.

STR clinic/bbq. If we get enough people maybe we can get a discount because we are super cool.

How many people generally go to these clinics? How do you decide whether you are like beginner to intermediate or like intermediate to advanced?

You are definitely super cool. But we don't really do discounts since we strongly believe you get more than what you pay for. That said, we can find other ways to add value, too.

6 max if there's only one instructor. 8 if it's an instructor and monkey boy (me).

Great question on the skill levels, we've been developing an easier way to determine that but for now we talk with each person to gauge where they're at.

Tara's the coolest cat. Super chill personality and personable. She'd talk to anyone with no negative vibe.

I rode with Tara at Aliso when I first started riding. I was taking the mtb class at Fullerton JC at the time and she was friends with our instructor. She was way cool. For me I know I'm less likely to get pissed off when there is a female teaching me the skills and I'm less likely to do something stupid out of frustration.

There's room for one or two more in this Saturday's clinic. Let me know if you're interested. Email me: socalclinics @t bikeskills dot com.

Topics include: Bike setup, skills drills, step-ups, technical climbing, technical descending, and more. Based on the students so far it's shaping up to be a high beginner to mid intermediate clinic.
