Thumbs up Mt. Zion Loop...

I just wanted to give kudos to everyone who's worked on cleaning-up and re-enforced The Mt. Zion trail up to the junction. I rode it yesterday at dusk for the first time in a while and I'm only angry at myself for going by it a million times (during Upper/Lower Winter Creek loops) and not taking that dreaded left (at first) to the junction. Yeah, the hike-a-bike section does suck (even though it sucks less now) but man is the payload heavy, sweet and beautiful. All in all, an awesome ride to be had.

Thanks again to all who's been up there busting their asses cleaning up the trail. It's looking really good!

Off the 210, just past the 605.
Exit @ Santa Anita Blvd and drive up until you get to Chantry Flats.
Extorsion pass wanted to park.
Great trail!

Your welcome Joe. I didn't know you were back to riding. We worked a lot of days on that trail and it looks like all our work is holding up very well. Let us know when you're heading up again and we'll join you.

Yeah, I've been riding for a while now..well, sort of.
I go a few months riding 1-3 a week then for whatever reason, I'll go 2-3 weeks without riding. Lately, I've been steadily getting back into it but I still have a long ways to go. Cardio is not where it should be and neither is my stamina but I am making slow progress.

I saw Silent Bob and Chris-E last year going up to Brown Mountain. I think my left thigh weighs more than both of them combined. Damn windsprites! :-)

Yeah, we'll have to hook-up sometime and ride. My schedule is kinda funky but I do have time, here and there. Cool thing is, I live a stones throw away from the Mt. Wilson trail head and just down the road from Chantry Flats in Sierra Madre. Basically, I have no excuses NOT to ride!

I rode it a couple of weeks ago, on a Monday about 10am, and the gate was closed at the bottom, so I had to ride in

about 5 mins after I started climbing, cars started passing, so the gate must've opened just after I started my ride

the work we did has held up very well.
