I Think I'm In Trouble....
Man, I'm in for it now!
After the Fontana race last weekend, Lacey let me know that she'd like to try racing.......DH!  We've talked about it every now and then, mostly after the Sunday rides, when we pretty much always hit a fun DH trail. After going down T&A a couple of weekends ago, on her hardtail, and hitting Stairsteps a couple of times, also on her hardtail, she's begining to pick up a little more confidence, and with that, comes speed.  So, I'm starting to begin the bike build process. I'm going to go with Tani's "06 CoilAir frame, with a DHX coil shock, and Mondo's FOX 36 Talas RC2. The rest of the parts are going to come from her Kikapu, so it should come out fairly light too. Now, all I have to do is work on staying ahead of HER on the DH's!

i think it's awesome ... my dad used to race dirt bikes. then a couple years ago we started riding road bikes together once in a while ... and he cooked me!
the tables have turned. :-) i tried to get him into mountain biking (not the best experience - i made the clips too tight and forgot to adjust the suspension for his weight) ... that's awesome that you're supportive of what lacey wants to try. my dad tries to get me to quit mtb all the time ... too "unsafe" he says ... funny coming from an ex dirt bike racer. :-) but i think once you get her the right bike and push her to do just "a little more" each time she practices dh ... it'll all be good! |

That's great Maxwell! I just ummm, hope the apple falls far from the tree and she doesn't earn the nickname 'Crash junior'... Lacey is gonna do great! Can't wait to watch her in action.

Damn, I understood that graph!. Darin you knew it was just a matter of time, didn't you? Lacey will do well at whatever racing she does. She's got a great coach and lots of strength and time to learn. Go getum Lacey.

Little girls grow so fast... and are big girls before you know it.... and the next thing you know she'll be asking for a car... or at least your keys!
Where do you think all my grey hair came from.... raising 3 daughters! Enjoy... enjoy....girls are special.... OMR

I have a thought about men (fathers) that have more than two daughters and no boys. I think wow that guy (father) in the past must have been a real player and F'ed around alot, broke a lot of hearts. I think its God's way of punishing you for what your going to expect when they get older and start dating.
