Resembles an old Nishiki Alien I think it was called. Circa 1996 ish. It also reminds me of something else, but I can't think of what it is...gimme a few. lol.

The only way that would work without a tensioner is if the swingarm pivoted around the bottom bracket shell(like the Kona A or Cowan FS.)

this will work as a SS in two possible ways.
1- like the Kona A (already mentioned 2- if it's a URT (unified rear triangle) where the entire drivetrain is on the back singarm (Kelin Mantra, Trek Y-bike)
