Default The worst Bike Shop Rental Experience...BIKE OUTPOST

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that the Bike outpost in Blue Diamond was the worst Bike shop I have ever paid money to. This last weekend I rented a Cannondale bike out their for my girlfriend. It was her first time ever on a trail so I wanted it to be good experience. The trails out their were somewhat fun but not very well marked. OK, earlier in the day I called the Bike outpost in Blue Diamond and I get this UK (Brit) guy on the phone and he is very short with me and I needed to get instructions from him on how to get their to his shop. I was cool with it I thought well I will give him the benfit of the doubt and I thought he was just real busy (I understand). So we get their and I inform the UK guy that we need to get my girl fitted out for a bike so he goes here and gives us this poorly maintained Cannondale. I understand that these are rental bikes but for 37.50 per day you would think you can get a bike that can upshift and down shift with no issues on all speeds. I was asking the UK guy questions about the trail and the bike and it just seemed that I the paying customer was taking too much of his time. It seemed he wanted to make the transaction real quick and then he wanted to go back outside to talk with his buddies. I had to ask him where the helmets and gloves were at, and when it really looked like I was bothering him and he ws short with me. I was thinking of reverting back to my old stupid youthful days and soon as he left like he had no time for us I should have stole something from his shop, but I thought twice and knew that was not a good idea Anyways I just wanted to say that the Bike Outpost will never get any of my money ever again.

That's a bummer. I feel bad that I recommended those guys in your other thread. I've had good experience there in the past but never actually rented a bike there.

I guess the dude was having a bad day. Hopefully your girl didn't get soured on the MTB experience.

dude that totally sucks! I've rented their only once before but that UK guys was really accomodating.... perhaps cuz I was renting 3 bikes??? Hopefully he doesn't treat other paying customers like that.

There's a bike loaner spreadsheet around here somewhere that FO' started... perhaps next time you wanna take your lady out you could hit someone up and borrow a bike.

Thats cool she is a trooper and overall she had a good time. The only reason why I rented a bike from them was because their shop was real close to the trails and we only had a rental car and I was only able to take one bike. The ride for me was not very challenging for me but it was just fun getting her out on the trail with me. I was going real easy and had to wait for her quite a bit but when I was ahead on the trail I would yell out loud to her what to watch out for. She had fun and wants to do it again.
