they're only on the 2008 Fishers and Treks, OEM for 1 year.

people will be buying the complete bikes for the forks and dumping the rest.... look for some good deals on 08 GF and Trek 29ers.

GF is also making the HiFi in a 29er.

Lot's of new 29er stuff this year.

Steve, one Niner's co-owners, brought that bike out with him a few weeks ago on the west side wednesday night ride. It's a handsome bike, and super-light. I think I recall him saying it's meant to entice XC racers. But it's capable of taking serious abuse too. He took it down some gnarly stuff like the very first, hikabike ridge drop on Sullivan ridge singletrack.

Default Just when I though I was safe.

Haven't wanted to buy a new bike in over a year then this.

Niner showed off their new J.E.T. 9 three inch travel full suspension bike. Based on the same design as the R.I.P. 9 trail bike, the new rig has a few tweaks to shorten the travel and drop some weight to get a complete bike weight of right at 23lbs as shown at the expo. This is with no goofy parts either. Quite impressive! More details later, so stay tuned!

Word. I'd like to try one. Someone I rode with that borrowed one from Niner said you could be a total space cadet going through techie rock gardens and it just rolls over everything. I'd love to see a 5-6 incher come out but the Niner guy says it's not an option until there are bigger forks on the market.

And that is why I didn't go. Out of the 5 years I went it rained 4 (hard) I can't see why they don't move the dates to a better time of year??? How about a Sea Otter type venue in SoCal?

Man!! I thought last year was bad, it was totally sunny and warm all day on Saturday. We left on Sunday when it started sprinkling. That's pretty crazy.

No big corporate sponsors, no TV coverage = high registration fees = people complaining. For the greater populace, MTBing has become more a recreation than a sport. To bad I hope MTB races have a come back.
