    Default Rider Down?

Did anyone hear of someone getting hurt yesterday in Aliso? I heard someone was hurt pretty bad but don't want to get anything started if it's not true.

No. It was on one of the historic trails that go from Aliso down to Laguna Canyon. I saw a couple of fire trucks and a medivac hilocopter as well. It was about 12:00 on Saturday.

I just got back from riding aliso. Ran into a guy at the Lynx trail head. He was riding out there yesterday when it happend. He said it was on one of the trails going down to the 133. The rider went down hard & had to be airlifted out of the park. Anyhow, second hand info.

I sure hope that's not true. That's all we need is for someone to get hurt on a trail that is known to be off limits. Talk about bringing attention to yourself. I hope he is OK but it's people like that that ruin things for everyone else. It makes the mountain biking community look bad as a whole.

Spoke to the ranger today at Aliso, he told me that he thought it was a training exercise, but a helicopter was over the Top of the World and that the park itself was not notified of anyone going down. He was much in the dark as we are.

rider went down on "dog park" (another rider called it "direct dial"), looked like about 2/3 rd's down and wasnt able to get out. heli picked him up and and into the ambulance. i suppose it could have been a training exercise, but didnt look like it. we were on the top of the ridge and watched most of it....
    thats what i saw....

Yes but we should have done a out and back ride. But no. We hiked up to the right back into El Moro.

I can't imagine the county or any other agency paying for a training activity on Easter Sunday. That would just cost too much. Not to mention they wouldn't be doing a training on private property. The land owners would have a field day with that.

    Just my 2 cents

Argh....who cares. If someone was injured, I just hope he/she is OK.

I was at Top of the World around that time and I heard the helicopter and sirens from Laguna Canyon. Was it someone riding? or maybe a car accident?

You know what guys....I was riding the motorcycle down there on Saturday and there was an accident in front of the dog park on the cayon. Motorcycle went down pretty hard. I think he was hauling down the middle lane avoiding traffic and someone pulled out into the middle in an SUV and got him. He was laid out pretty good. Backed up the canyon for an hour or two. Glad I was on my motorcycle at the time so I could get around the traffic!
