I won't post directions on this site out of respect for the people that told me. It's not a secret, you can find it if you try. PM's work best for this place. I am not going to be responsible for being the one that posts directions on the WWW.

Question

Rode Del Cerro with my nephew this afternoon...sunny and gorgeous out there and you could see out over the ocean forever!! Came back home still overcast here...
My question I'm just getting to know those trails was shown Slow or Die and upper/lower Slalom recently and was I thought on Slalom today climbed up past the tank headed straight out down the trail once you hit the top by the white fence but must have missed a first turn and ended up on a ST at the far end of the Cizzle past those other two. Came across a ladder jump at one point...very narrow and loose most of the way. Towards the bottom you hit a narrow section with exposure on both sides. Can anyone tell me what the name of it was? Was not my favorite but gonna try to find the right way down the Slaloms again this week really enjoyed the fast flowy st on those.

Did have a second ladder just past that first ladder jump.
When we were riding back up the fireroad I could see where we had exitted the other two trails last week so I know it was beyond those?
THANKS...that must be it.

That is slow or die, Sharky. Two ladder drops, really loose rock/dirt equals slow or die. You turned left where you should have gone straight- that's all. It's all good, at Del Cerro everything leads back to the fireroad. Did you see/do the fire road drop?

Seemed very similar to Slow or Die but the exit to the fireroad was not the same and some sections there just looked different to me but then it did split towards the bottom with different exits. Thought I saw the Slow or die exit we did farther up but may have just looked like it.. Hard being I only did it once...but I really need to go again with someone that knows those trails. Thanks I guess you could be right? If it helps the first was a regular ladder jump and the second was a ladder leaning against a rock you go up to jump off the rock?? Was looking for Slalom I'll remember right turn.
We were there around 2 to 3:45 or so. Hit a few of the jump areas too.
I really should have paid better attention the first time!!

Taking a left at the first singletrack intersecting the bottom of slalom 1 or 2 will lead to the big slide, a.k.a. "Grand Canyon". You can also get there by bypassing S1/S2 and continuing along the far edge of the hill. Continuing on S1 or S2 will lead you to the fire road, further down from Eagle's Nest. Next to Grand Canyon to the right is a newer section with the drop off the wooden platform and the ramp up to/off of the rock--pretty cool little section courtesty of the SBF crew, me thinks. If you're ever wondering about any Del Cerro stuff, the old skool group that built most of the [legal] trails up there meets at the parking lot at 10-1030 am on Sundays. They're the most kick ass 40-60 year olds I've ever ridden with.
