    Default New Chumba Evo

An interesting take on adjustability. Chumba has been a great company for me to deal with.

    Good looking frame.

From the looks of the pic, I have to wonder if those are now available in sporting goods stores.

Dammit, and I just rebuilt my XCL... I really liked the previous EVO, but this one looks just so much sexier, and anodized to boot.

And yes, Mr. Crash, let the bloodbath commence...

    *Sigh*

The pic was taken at one of our foreign distributor's showrooms. They sell high-end rock-climbing, hiking, and other extreme equipment. Their CHUMBA bikes start at upwards of $3,000. For the U.S. and most markets, the traditional channel will be IBDs (Independent Bicycle Dealers).

Any specs on this beast? Price for the frame? I went to the Chumba site, but there wasn't anything there.

Hmmm, multi link suspension now...and adjustable chainstay length.

Looks decent enough, but hows it ride?

That's a picture of the front shock mount. There is one designed for a coil shock; and one for an air. Each shock mount position was designed to take into account the differing spring rates and suspension feel of coil and air dampers.

im not a huge fan of the adjustable chainstay , looks like more bolts to check after i slam the wheel in the stays and leave it their. It looks 300% or more better then the last Evo

Dropped FSR and is that DW or VPP I see - or something else? I wonder if they make an XL size now.

The adjustable chain stays are a bit much but I understand the idea. Many of the all-mountain bikes have different drop outs for different axles. This is the same thing excpect it allows you to adjust the chain stays as well. I don't see the harm in it. Same number of bolts as the other drop outs with more options for adjustability. That being said, I can't see myself spending much time experimenting with the wheelbase.

Yup, let me explain our thinking. You have the flexibility to run different rear axle options; but at the same time adjusting c/s or wheelbase length depending on your head angle, BB height, as well as set up with respect to shock and build type. Plus, the adjustable wheelbase literally takes less than 1-2 minutes to adjust.

We really tried to maximize the ability to integrate shock type, geometry, and rider preferences into one platform that wouldn't break the bank and offer the ability to dial in your ride as much as possible.

How much travel does it have? I'm assuming it's an AM bike, so how does it pedal?
Since Chumba is a local company, why do the Euros get it first? Where's the love?
