Thumbs up Sea Otter clinics anyone?

Ladies and gents of STR,

I'm coordinating a bunch of clinics up at Sea Otter and I think they're going to be really cool. If any of you are going or considering going to the Otter check us out.

Our instructors include some big names: Joe Lawwill, Tara Llanes, Kirt Voreis, Shaums March, Chris Duncan, etc.

Topics: Dual Slalom, Bike Handling, Women's Trail Clinics, Pump Track, Dirt Jump

See the BikeSkills Sea Otter Clinics here.

[SIZE=1]I know this is perilously close to spam. For that I apologize (LBmtb- feel free to blast this thing if I'm violating any board rules).

The Bikeskills Ride Zone. It's right next to the "Sea Otter Village". We're building it for the event and then it goes bye bye. Here's our artist's conception of it...

I'm not part of the building crew since I'm down here in SoCal but I'm really looking forward to spending a lot of time hanging out there.

Aliso riders... anyone interested in an 4/7/07 Aliso Woods clinic with Joe Lawwill?

What's the diff between the bike handling clinic and the women's only? Is the women's clinic going over the same stuff, or is it geared towards more beginners?

How much are the clinics at Sea Otter? At a glance, didn't see the price, but it was just a glance

Have all the details been worked out yet? (Times, durations, max people per clinic, cost, etc.) I'm very interested in the pump track and DJ clinics so any details would be appreciated.

Yep, go here. Drill in to each one to see cost and max people. The Pump and Jump clinics range from an hour to two hours. Honestly, you'll probably get more time than what's posted. Plus, with the clinic fee you'll already be in the Ridezone so you wont have to pay to get in there.

Or if you have specific questions feel free to contact me personally via PM.

Mmmm... I think we're going to have either rental or demo bikes. Probably Santa Cruz Jackals or Chameleons. Not sure on the details here as it's not my gig. I'm just the clinics guy. I'll do some asking around.

Hmm, that page doesn't work right for me (on a Mac with Safari). I guess I'll just have to find a PC to check it out.

Ug, we outsourced that service and the company doesn't support anything other than IE. It kills me since I'm a Safari and Firefox user (I'm a fellow Mac-a-phile). Had I known I may have gone somewhere else.

Try this for now.

Bikeskills at Sea Otter Press Release

Less detail, but good overview.

And apologies for making you use a PC.

Sorry Wrecker, didn't get back to you:

The primary difference is that the women's clinic is an on trail clinic. Tara Llanes will take the ladies out on a ride, stop at features, and drill on handling techniques. Shaums and Mike's clinic is in the Ridezone so you don't go traipsing all over. It's much more focused and intense where the women's clinic will be more lighthearted and casual. Hope that helps.
