Here are the pics of the before and after of my coverted Giant XTC SE2 9 spd to a SS. I also replaced the Manitou Blk super 80/100 to a Psylo 80/125 u-turn(I wish I had a lock-out). The gearing is 32:18

I was thinking of converting my SS to a geared rig..I don't want to be like the cool kids, I like the back of the bus..any thoughts Jose?

hmmmm OOtttaaayy!!! the cool kids have fixies!! not gear bikes...(is what I said) and they make em look vintage like and ride em with crazy blinging colors too!!

Please no dirt fixies. Skidding sux. Skidding is cool for 5 year olds.
IMO even if you do trail repair on a regular basis, its moot because the skids are left behind for all other users to see. Keep it on the road.
