In response to the wild design comment, yes they look unique and they handle better than bikes with more travel and more weight. Just to let you know a little more about the bike: The bikes main pivot is centralized-- this allows the bike to be completely balanced while on the pedals. You never feel like you are going to loop out or go over the bars.
The 07 Free ride EVO is in testing. It will have a slack seat tube, because the seat tubes on most free ride bikes are never higher than 7 inches. This lets the seat tucks out of the way while jumping and riding steep grades and drops. It is like a medium travel down hill bike, but light. The shock will be a DHX 5.0 coil shock to take big hits all day long. We are working on getting a linear 7.5 inches of travel and keeping the geometry quick and nimble for fast cornering. The 07 all-mountain EVO has 6 inches of travel and has a steeper seat tube angle that allows for higher seat adjustments. Doing this helps climbing and holds your center of gravity while in the saddle. The stable characteristics are maintained from the Free ride EVO because the Main pivot is centralized. There is no other bike with this type of front to rear balance. This bike is something you have to experience. When test riding be sure to test the right size and be specific to what type of riding you do most, because all Chumbas are custom. We can offer build up options to suit your needs. Call in your orders quick. We are taking Chumba XCL orders now also. The XCL has a race proven geometry with unique features like 1.5 seat tube. This allows for added stiffness and thinner wall thickness. This is light and strong, and not found on other bikes. The low maintenance pivot bearing design will out last you. These bikes are built to last. If you want pretty we can get them in many colors to match your favorite tights or even your car… Ok back to the wild design. I think people have come to recognize the quality in Chumba bikes. Years of testing in the racing circuit have helped us develop bikes that can surpass today’s technology in the bicycle industry. If you have any availability or sizing questions please call me @ 714-348-6859 Jason [quote=SAR_boats;56747]Have you considered one of these: Friends don't let friends ride Huffys. But I think if I was going to ride a huffy that would be the one. That thing rocks. ![]() You will see me bombing the DH on that bitchin rig.Last edited by RacinJason; 03-24-2007 at 11:23 PM. I spent the day in Clarmont testing groupos for the new XCL's and EVO's. I even ran the XCL off some jumps and drops. Both of the bikes can hold up to anything I can throw at them. If you go to mtbr you can see some of the new EVO pics posted as Alan Steve and I put the bike togather. The Matallic Orange looks so cool in the sunlight.
The new EVO Rides like no other bike. This bike can climb. This bike can jump great. This bike can be raced DH. You won't believe that it is only 6 inches of travel. I still do not believe it. Why are we working on 7+ inches for the Free ride EVO who knows. This bike can do everything with 6 inches. The new free ride bikes will have a coil shock 7+ inches of travel and a dbl chain ring with a bash guard. This is all to relieve you from the over weight DH bikes that some of you are using for Free riding currently. We at Chumba think a bike should climb and peddle well also. Check this out. After researching that incident the wheel blew up causing the collapse of the front end. In testing this happened to all other manufacturers frames also. We do fatigue testing of all comparable brands and models. We had the highest test rating in several test facility's.
As many of you know our bikes a designed around a sturdy foundation. In some cases our bikes are over built to take more than most people will ever be able to dish out. ![]() ![]() Please research before commenting thank you . Last edited by LBmtb; 12-07-2007 at 10:04 PM. Reason: minor cleanup |
