We've done a few conversions and special orders at the Sport Chalet in Irvine, off Jamboree and Michelson. We rode fixed gears in tuxedos to my wedding reception. All we have in stock are some Surly cogs, but we can order Redline 9-2-5's, KHS and Surly bikes too. But check out that SE rig, pretty nice bike for someone on a budget. We refer quite a few customers to Adrenaline and The Path.

Fixie on a budget:
Get some ducktape for your shifters. JB Weld for your rear freewheel. Im almost done with my convert. just riding SS on it... going to get a new rear wheel that will be fixed... as my old Suntour Hub was un-fixable (unless Suicide Fixed) PS: I want the Chrome Pista!

Pista rock! I have the Pista Concept, but not for the road.
If you're like me, and not sure about cars without brakes/just want to try out the fixie--blah blah blah (sissy and all), you can check out Specialized Langster. The beauty of that bike is that you don't have to commit to a fixie, the hub flips to a free-wheel (still SS), and it has front/rear brakes. I've been to Kings in Seal Beach (on PCH), they seem to know what they're doing ![]()

Do I even have to bring up The Path again? They got what you need. Talk to Brian (donkey.) He commutes about 45 miles a day on his fixie.

Try Orange20 or Bicycle Kitchen; both are on Heliotrope and Melrose. Great shops for the fixie or singlespeeder thing.
