Chill peeps, as Gregg said, read, evaluate and dont jump to conclusions. We all have different ideas, but lets work as a team and not as adversary's.In the end we have a common goal, just a different idea of what path to take to the finish line.

This year marked the 25th anniversary of the Leaping Lizards race. If the trail is illegal, then why hasn't anyone ever taken steps to legalize it????

I like this excerpt from the Kenda web site:

Hans Rey Signature Series

In keeping up with his “extreme” reputation, Hans named his tire the Telonix after the legendary Laguna Rads downhill course/trail/race. The RADS are an infamous, underground biking club, that has been around for about a quarter century in Southern California. For 22 years the Rads have organized the oldest standing downhill race in the world, the Leaping Lizard, on the legendary Telonix trail. The Telonix is a steep but diverse course that includes every element of a world class track. Kenda’s Legends have participated in it - Hans has won it (again in 2006), Tomac has raced it, Lopes has also won it several times and EC trains on it. But don’t ever expect to see a race flyer on it, it’s an invitation-only event conducted without race organizers or press-coverage.

There has always been a lot of confusion regarding Telonics. The reason is because it is not within the park boundary. There was some talk of changing the boundary to include the Canyon Acres side, or at least allowing enforcement outside the park, but I don't know if that ever happened. Honestly, everyone, this thread, the threats of enforcement, the actual enforcement, the threats of trail closures, the actual trail closures, the threat of not opening new trails, the actual not opening of new trails, the magazines being donkeys and blabbing about these trails to the rest of the world......these are all just old reruns of the same stuff that's been going on for a long time. Regardless of everybody's good intentions there will always be people out there who are going to ride them anyway. My advice if you are one of them - leave no trace, tread lightly, close your mouth, don't post pics, don't be a barney, quit riding your brakes because if you are skidding the whole way down you have no business being on those trails in the first place, don't go night riding with your DH crew where you can be seen from miles away, and lastly, don't complain if you get caught and get a ticket. Less is more.

p.s. the Lizards race did not happen a couple of weeks ago, but I was in Vegas and missed the race that didn't occur - anybody know who won?
