Default Looking for a job after nearly 32 years

Posted on another board last week, just thought I'd also post here also (just in case there's an employer looking-in)

Can’t say it wasn’t totally expected, but with so much going here it was a bit surprising.
Started when I was 19 years old, drove 16 miles into work for over 20 years.
Ten years ago the company moved into my neighborhood and I was able to commute via bicycle that past 10 years (that was nice). Hoping I can find employment within riding distance to continue the riding.

What do you do?
I assume you're near Simi Valley?

Too bad you're not near Torrance. The company I work for is looking for several IT-type people in many catagories. Unfortunately, I don't know what most of the job descriptions mean, though.

Our Santa Clarita office doesn't really have anything up your alley, unless you happen to be an engineer or are intimately familiar with motorsport racing technologies.

Wow, Eric ol bud, sorry to hear this. I know as smart as you are you'll land something quick. I wish you the best of luck.

The good side is you may have time to get a few good rides in while you're looking

Thanks all.
No doors closing, but they sold the whole Engineering department a few months ago and those who didn't go w/ engineering are moving to another building so...
Yes I got severance and a retirement package but with the amount the company paid the additional expences don't let me stay idle for more than a few months (If I wanted to just kick-back, but the wifw is in panic mode!)
