Thumbs up LR: Tommy's in Long Beach

Met up with Chappy, Diggs, and Gouge at Tommy's on Anaheim & Ximeno in the LB to tha C for lunch on Tuesday. Weather was pretty nice, not too hot, and not too cold. Seating was limited due to the Wilson High School kids getting out around noon. When we arrived Diggs and Gouge were posting up with there food and had a table reserved for us. I had gotten a ride there from Chappy, picked me up downtown in front of the shoe-shiner guy on Pine & 1st. We ordered our food, I had a plain cheeseburger, chili fries and a medium pepsi, Chappy had chili fries, chili dog, large pepsi and even plowed Digg's chili dog after consuming his own food. Gouge ordered off the kids menu and had chili fries, and a 6oz fruit punch. Diggs ended up having some chili fries and was unable to clean the chili dog, thus passing it off to Chappy.

All in all it was a good lunch, no spills to report of, and no major indigestion occured. Highlights included a motorcycle cop picking off unsuspecting drivers every five minutes. Once again, Gouge left the camera at the office or home or in his car, so no pix.

I will have to train harder to be able to consume a Chili Cheese Dog and Chili Cheese fries at the same time!

When you can clean that you should try the In -n-out 4x4, fries animal style, Milkshake meal. If you can clean that you'll be ready for anything.

Sweet LR. I used to bounce at Fenders off of Linden & 1st and eat many post show Tommyburgers.

Speaking of BIG food. Does anyone remember Belle Isles by Disneyland?

mmm, tommmieeess.... hadn't been there in a couple of months, waaay too long be kept from the chili haven. yes, von-digs was looking a little quesy, and that neglected dog drowning in chili & cheese was calling my name.

there was some chatter that day amongst the patrons (young & old) regarding the mythical "Tommy's Tri-fecta", an order of chili-cheese: fries, burger & dog. the mythical tale stirred something in my gut. yes it may have been von-digs, left-over chili dog, or the 100 yard stares from the wilson high freedom writers. whatever it was, i left with my own vision quest... the tri-fecta will be mine. of course to be capped-off with long nap back at the office.

Count me in on that Vision Quest...but perhaps it should involve a ride AFTER to let the Vision Quest begin!
I think you might onto something

Tommy's tamales smothered in Chili is another taste sensation not to be missed.

Chili Burger
Chili Fries
Chili Tamale

That's a hat trick.

Not to be attempted the night before a ride with long shuttles

It was a great second job. Free gigs every week!
My sister and I both had our cars towed one night and we ended up busing home too.
