Default Meeting of the members

Okay not the best title...

I had said in another thread that I didn't know eveybody only know people through responding to threads.

I had the idea of a meet up ride or something where we can all meet newbies and vets of here. Since most us don't post pictures of ourselves I didn't know who to look for at the Fontana ride.

I thought It would be cool to have one of these so we can all get to know each other...

Let me know what you think of the idea.

later,

sean

sean,

there are many group rides throughout the week and on the weekends here. you should come join one, its a good way to meet other riders.

i do vote for another hooters night or something like that...yard house maybe? its been awhile!

Meeting on rides is probably the best way BUT people sometimes don't go on the same rides. Newer people might not want to go on the death marches that the 'vets' do and vise versa.

Dinner would be cool. Or . . .???

maybe a bbq at like whittier narrows or another park would be coool! i don't think anyone here would want a bunch of drunken mtber's in their house haha...we could have it some place central to everyone except those pesky 909er's... they're used to driving back to civilization once in a while

Or you all can just come to our February 4th "enjoy our trail work day" on Mt Zion. Ride...then BBQ at the Pack Station/Store afterwards. Don't worry the trail work is done, we are moving on to work on Ken Burton Trail.

I will post better info closer to the date. Trailhead is in the Angeles National Forest near the town of Sierra Madre; Start Chantry Flats, Trails Upper Winter Creek Trail, Mt Zion Trail, and Gabrelino Trail. Try to carpool because parking is limited and you need a Adventure Pass. Moderate tech on a very narrow loose trail with some major exposures. OK for anyone with good bike skills and willing to walk the scary stuff.

See Mt. Zion Trail Work posts for some pics.

A BBQ at Oneill Park the day of VQ/CC. Those that aren't riding can hangout, and cook for and shuttle those that are racing. There would also be enough time for STT, Luge, And the trails in the park. What you guys think?

el drunko, that sounds like a good idea. we could hang out at the bottom of the motorway til our friends all pass through. and then go for a spin from cooks up to the luge and back to cooks, then head back to the finish line afterwards...i like the sounds of that.

yep, got my vote. i missed the "playaz tent" at the 24hr race, and would suggest resurrecting it at the CC/VQ. that is, if i don't have to endure any sort of hazing or initiation prior to entering the tent...

Nah, it's after entering that things get interesting. The Tripwire/Lubricator is not to be feared, exactly, butt...
