I think there are a lot of great idea's, do we have a list of possible places that we could vote on meeting and a date?

BBQ is cool, even a ride too.

This sounds like a great idea. I'm new to the STR community and would really like to see some faces to the posts.
I like the VQ/CC idea, especially since I will already be there.
Or course I'll be meeting some of you guys at the Push-a-Kona too.

Seeing some friendly STR faces at bottom of Motorway and the finish line was definitely a welcome sight last year for VQ. A semi-organized thing would be great! Hopefully we can have the jerseys to represent, too.

Where is QV/CC? Is that Orange county?

Are people intrested in a weekend thing like Saturday or Sunday? I wouldn't be able to do it next weekend. I know there is another Southridge ride that weekend, I won't be doing that one but the one after.

I could meet up with people this Saturday if anyone is intrested? I live in the Pasadena area, a ride would be cool.

Actually, meeting before the VQ/CC might be good, as then we'd know each other on the day of the event....so we'd recognize the familiar faces in the tent.

Or, in my case, as they pass me on the trail

I reserved site 6 at O'niell March 3rd for CC/VQ. I'll start another thread with more details. I think this would be a good opportunity to meet some of the members of STR. There are alot of fun places to ride near o'neill park. Look for the " CC/VQ BBQ " thread towards the end of feb. if there's any interest. I'll post a new thread today to start working out the details.

hmm im assuming the ride may need to be skipped for me and just show for the BBQ. or watch the race while others are riding on account of my lack of XC bikes

Don't they serve food after this still? BBQ definitely sounds better than the giant spaghetti pot. I might stop by since I'm not enrolled in VQ/CC. The new baby might make its first public race support appearance..one of many.

Default another option if want to do before CC/VC

All good stuff above and i'm down for O'Neil/Motorway plans.

Another less formal option (that can be done before CC/VC is to meet-up and do V2 of swap-meet in Albertson’s parking lot (think it's Chapman/jamboree) and hit sant oaks up for a ride.

Plenty of everything for most levels. True beginners can do a loop at peters canyon and the flat stuff at Irvine park before hitting wash at oaks. Think there is even a j-rebs a few miles down Chapman as I have seen a few comments about diggin' that place (if BBQ is still a must).

Or if start early enough maybe meet/swap in back part of Cooks parking lot (as may get full)and do STT/Luge
