Anyone taking their mp3 player and care to publish their playlist for VQ/CC ??
I'm putting a playlist together now - its not easy coming up with 7hours of top tunes. I'm trying to time the mellow tracks to come on at the right time and the kicking beats for when I need them.

Personally I can't race with an mp3 player. It distracts me too much. I'm way to simple minded. I am however looking forward to seeing some of the playlists. Even though I won't race with one, I will do some solo road rides with it.
Bring on the playlists!

Seems like everyone has their opinion on this....
Last year I used my iPod on the CC and it was awesome. Heres some random music I had going on. AFI The Game Incubus Linkin Park The Killers OAR Panic at the Disco Pepper Rage Against the Machine Red Hot Chili Peppers The Used Atleast half the field of racers had some kind of ear phones in their ears last year. Goooood luck dude! |

I'll probably do some kind of alternative/heavy metal/techno mix on my shuffle. RATM, System of a Down, Goldfrapp, Crystal Method, etc etc.

Pretty much always ride with ipod. 10K+ songs on shuffle and start mashing
While im not gonna make race this year but think i would have 1 infinant loop of It's not unusual (Tom Jones) for the entire race/ride. either that or Walk by Pantera ![]() Good luck to all the riders and agree, lets see those actual playlists

The stuff I usually listen to is pretty eclectic but this calls for something different:
I'm scoping stuff like Prodigy, Sunscreem, Muse, Underworld, New Order, Pulp, Faithless, etc But I think its more a case of choosing specific tracks that either get you going or chill you out. Jose told me he's got a mix done of some Abba and Britney. I think he may stop at Beeks place to hand out cup cakes too ![]()

I'm not racing, but when I ride alone, I will sometimes listen to my iPod. I created a playlist that uses the smart playlist functions and it plays random tunes according to criteria like ratings, genres and most recently played. So, I have a metal playlist (I tagged my songs with a \m/ in the comments regardless of whether they were really metal, if I would consider them as hard like that. Like A Perfect Circle, for example. Or Rush. Neither is actually metal, but I like 'em like that. So, my playlist will play random songs, but the higher rated songs get played more often and it won't play the same song twice in a day. Sure, I get a power ballad once in a while, but it's okay.

Hadn't thought about a special playlist just for this event, great idea.
Maybe some Adolescents or Social Distortion for that kick off the start, then ease into a little Gorillaz/Chemical Brothers/Crystal Method medley once I find a groove to settle into. At Main Divide, when things get ugly, I'll cue up some Bauhaus, and just might sprinkle in a little Joy Division to really get the misery flowin'. Come Motorway, nothing but Girls Against Boys all the way down. Unless, of course, some Rev. Horton Heat finds its way in there "somehow." After that only dirges. It'll be one extended funeral from there on out for this fool. |

Alrighty, you guys are going to think I'm a freak with my playlist. Then again, if you don't already think that, you don't know me.
Social D Flogging Molly the Skirts Atomic Blonde NoFX (the "Theme from a NoFX Album" song is great--I'm over 30 and doing just fine!) Oingo Boingo (nothing like "wild sex" on a good trail) Linkin Park Sarah McLachlan Dido Pretty in Stereo etc etc etc I need to play with my iPOD more, so I'm not listening to Tina and her harp playing songs from the Cliffs of Moher CD wheh I really need some NoFX or something.
